    Car was at auction 9/09
    www.classicauctions.co.uk/lotdetail.php

    Auction description:
    Lot : 80
    1971 Jaguar E-Type V12 Coupe
    Current ownership for fourteen years

    Estimate:
    SOLD for £15400
    Registration No: XRD727J
    Chassis No: 1S50187BW
    Engine No: 7S25365B
    CC: 5343
    Colour: Light Blue
    Trim Colour: Dark Blue
    MOT: Aug 2010

Finished in light blue with dark blue leather upholstery, this particular example is said to have been the subject of "a photo restoration circa 1990" and to have had "very little use since" (as shown by accompanying MOT certificates). Reported to have had just three keepers over the last twenty-nine years and to have been in the current ownership for fourteen of those, 'XRD 727J' is described by the vendor as being in "good" condition with regard to its bodywork, paintwork and original interior trim. While, he adds that (a) the engine is "smooth and quiet with good oil pressure" and (b) the automatic transmission "changes well with no bad noises". Understood to have won its class at a car show during 2005 and as a pre-1973 car to be eligible for historic class (free) road tax, this appealing E-type is offered for sale with original instruction book and MOT certificate valid until August 2010.

For sale at Classic Connection near Ringwood for £49,995. Seller's description below.
    www.classicconnection.co.uk/vehicles/jaguar-e-type-v12-coupe/

Jaguar E Type V12 Coupe Automatic, 1971 J registration. Pale Blue with dark blue leather interior and chrome wire wheels. 71,000 miles, this is an older rust free restoration and has many thousands spent on it in recent years. It is mechanically perfect and drives as it should. By far the most comfortable E Type to own with its automatic gearbox, power steering and longer doors than the two seater.

There is a history file containing many old MoT's, some photos of the restoration, lots of receipts for work and also for new parts. All in all a very nice Jaguar E Type which is in a fantastic colour combination and is a joy to drive. Only four owners from new, the last since 2009 and the previous one since 1988. Supplied with a new MoT.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
