A UK delivery car, first registered with Greater London Council on 7 October 1971. Currently for sale at Mr Speedlux Classic and GT Cars of Battle. Described as a stunning and highly original manual RHD V12 E type two plus two coupe, matching numbers with a new body rebuild. £49,995.
History:
According to the JDHT certificate that accompanies the car, it was manufactured on 27 August 1971 and dispatched by the original distributor Henlys on 17 September 1971 to supplying dealer Charles Follett of London W1 for the first owner Mrs K Gaze. The colour scheme is a today, light blue with dark blue interior and it retains its original London registration mark JLO110K. Little is known about the car until it was purchased by the current body shop owner in 2010 as an original car in need of TLC.
JLO110K was completely stripped and rotisserie jig mounted with the aim of producing an authentically restored E type. To this end as much as possible of the original car was re-used, to make for a potential preservation class concours winning example. Mileage is 79,524, which is not guaranteed but probably correct given the condition of the car prior to restoration. Since completing the Jaguar, only breaking in miles have been completed, the new owner will need to complete the running in process.
Bodywork:
Perfection. We have not seen a better body on an E type. It has had a bare metal, windows out re-paint and any corrosion was cut out and re-metalled where required. The finish is outstanding, the sides laser straight and the panel fit factory fresh. No marks, no orange peel, no flaws - like a brand new car! The chassis is as good as the top of the car, simply put it presents factory correct in all those areas some E type owners won't want you to see. All cavities and seems have been Waxoil treated to preserve this exceptional car for the future. A decision was made to not buy new reproduction, inferior plated replacement bright work but rather re-use the original chrome ware, which was in very good condition. There is light pickling to some items, which adds to its authentic presentation. The glass is perfect.
Mechanicals:
During the course of restoration anything that needed changing was done, and the car today starts, drives, and stops pretty much as it did in 1971. New tyres and battery were fitted and the engine received a full service including sump removal an the curing of any leaks with gasket replacement. The radiator and gearbox appear newer but no history substantiates their replacement. New MOT.
Interior: Unlike many over restored examples, it still has its original cabin. The interior in dark blue was in good condition and this has been carefully cleaned and re-instated. The leather seats have been fed and are supple and comfortable. The original carpets are in good condition. All switch gear works and the only wear to the cabin is the headlining which has some minor deterioration.
Boot:
This presents very sharply and the access panel once lifted reveals a spare tyre with tie down and tool kit.
Summary:
If you are looking for an authentically restored E type, one that has had its body expertly repaired to the highest standard yet is still original then this car is for you. This car represents real value compared to the cost of a professional restoration, we recommend an early inspection.

Chassis number ‘1S50350’ was dispatched new on the 17th of September 1971 to the supplying dealer, Charles Follett, London W1, and thereafter was sold to the first owner, a Mrs K. Gaze. Finished from new in Light Blue paintwork with a Dark Blue interior upholstery, pleasingly the colour scheme in which it is still presented today. Desirable for being both a manual gearbox car and a matching numbers example, ‘JLO 110K’ was lavished with a comprehensive restoration in 2010 including a full bodywork renovation with the bodywork stripped and restored with a focus upon saving as much of the original metal work as possible. More recently benefitting from a fuel system refresh in 2017, and full servicing with new spark plugs as well as rear exhaust box and tailpipes in 2022.
Starting readily and both running and driving very well during the recent photography session, the Jaguar is offered with a credible recorded mileage of 81,500 miles on the odometer. Accompanied by a history file comprising the JHT Heritage Certificate, a collection of invoices and previous MOTs, a maintenance chart, operating, maintenance and service handbook, ownership history, and a current V5C document. UK-supplied, manual gearbox, matching numbers examples are highly desirable E-Types and with this V12 Coupe being all of these and having been provided a full restoration in its original colour scheme is certainly one to consider.
