Auction description:
Jaguar Heritage + Classic Cars, Barons (1st May 2007) Offered hear is a much uprated FHC, which has a number of desirable, expensive and performance enhancing modifications. The basic car is a 78,000 miles V12 E-Type FHC but to this has been fitted a Rob Beere enhanced engine which has 6 Webber DCOE (side draught) carburettors, tubular exhaust manifolds, stainless exhaust, Getrag 5-Speed manual gearbox, lightened flywheel. Minilite alloy wheels, Motor-Lita steering wheel and poly-bushed suspension. The car was also the very first E-Type to be equipped with a Harvey Bailey handling kit. All of the aforementioned items are to make the car go faster and handle better, to help it stop it is equipped with AP Racing, 4-Pot discs up front and new standard disc at the rear. Apart from a much lower stance, the car remains standard in appearance and to keep the body beautiful it has benefited from a new bonnet, re-skinned doors and a full, bare metal repaint in 2005. The interior is said to in good, original condition and the car comes complete with set of used wire wheels and a second tail pipe section for the exhaust, which makes the car a little quieter. The names involved in the work are known to the writer. DJB Engineering prepared my Racing V12 in the 80's, to great effect and Rob Beere is a highly respected Jaguar engine specialist.
If you want a V12 E-Type that sounds like it means business and then delivers the performance it threatens, which also has the handling, ride and stopping power to match, you need look no further. If you asked a specialist to build this car you would see no change from £100,000.00. You can own this one for around 25% of that figure.
