Lot #160684

This 1971 Jaguar E-Type Series III 2+2 V12 was refurbished in the early 1990s and subsequently won several first place awards from various JCNA Concours events. It is finished in Old English White over black leather and is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ steel wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and air conditioning. This E-Type 2+2 was acquired by the current owner in 2022 and is now offered on dealer consignment with service records, prior judging sheets, awards, historical photos, and a clean California title.

The car is finished in Old English White and was repainted in the early 1990s. Exterior equipment includes sealed-beam open headlights, dual side mirrors, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets.

The 15″ steel wheels are mounted with 205/70 Dunlop Sport Super D7 tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The 2+2 cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include an Aiwa cassette stereo, a locking glovebox, and air conditioning. The radio is inoperative.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 96k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 314 horsepower and 349 lb-ft of torque when new.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.

Photos from various stages of the refurbishment and Concours events over the years are included in the sale along with prior awards and JCNA judging sheets.

The car is titled using VIN 1S170618BW, which adds a “1” as the third digit of the chassis number.
