This 1971 Jaguar E-Type Series III 2+2 is powered by a replacement 5.3-liter V12 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in Signal Red over black leather, and features include four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15″ steel wheels with polished covers, quadruple carburetors, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a cassette radio, and a heater. It was refurbished over two decades ago and was acquired by the current owner in 2024. This Series III E-Type is now offered in Milton, Delaware by the seller on behalf of its owner, a retail dealership, with the owner’s manual and a clean New Jersey title.
The car is finished in Signal Red and was repainted over two decades ago. Features include uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, US-spec bumpers, and a power antenna.
The 15″ steel wheels feature polished covers and are mounted with Remington tires measuring 205/70. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The 2+2 cabin features front bucket seats and a reach bench seat upholstered in black leather as well as color-coordinated door panels. Interior amenities include a Boss AM/FM/cassette radio, lap belts, a locking glovebox, and a heater.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 28k miles.
The replacement 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 314 horsepower and 349 lb-ft of torque when new. Work in January 2025 reportedly consisted of replacing the fuel pump and rebuilding the carburetors.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
