    Ebay item 5/3/11
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-V12-XKE-Jaguar-2-2-100-rust-free-records-books-/120 ...
Current bid $2,136 reserve not met, 2 bids 4 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
    1971 XKE coupe 2 + 2

This car has been in Arizona since new, sold at what was Flint Motors (authorized dealer in the day). Full service records back to warranty work. Orginal owners protecto-plate or owner I.D. issues by the dealer. Records showing ownership chain here in AZ, never left the state.

Original Pale Primrose number all number matching machine. Automatic and A/C (a/c leaks freon after a few days). Steel wheels with original oem trim rings.

Runs fast and strong. Miles can be tracked through paoerwork as 47,000. Odo shows 11,000 as the speedo was replaced at 36,000 at the dealership...receipt for change in service record. In AZ the speedo change makes it a true mileage not know car as our DMV is not very sophisticated, again, records corroborate mileage. The paint has some crazing or spider cracks from age, chips and minor dings. Certainly driver condition, a respray would be nice one day. The interior looks original with minor flaws. The drivers door sill material has a repaired tear. Tires have 98% tread left. Spare and jack are there. Glass is great.

Starts right up, no issues there. unmolested engine bay. ZERO RUST on this car as I said always in AZ. The bonnet is unmolested and has no damage repairs nor does the rest of the car.

    Car returns to ebay 10/14/11

Opening bid $1,000, no reserve, no bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Richmond, Virginia.

    Sellers description:
1971 XKE V12 2+2 coupe. This car has been in Arizona since I purchased it in May 2011. Records show it was sold new and serviced at Flint Motors (authorized dealer in the day). This is a numbers matching car which has AC, automatic trans., and has less than 50K, supported by paperwork and previous owner.

This is an excellent running vehicle, does not smoke and the transmission operates smoothly. I have had this car serviced by a Jaguar specialist and they verify it is an excellent running car. They performed a tune-up, rebuilt the carbs., replaced some of the switches and has the car running like new. There has been extensive brake work done to the car, front and rear, prior to my purchasing it. The car just went through a strict VA State inspection that is valid thru Aug. 2012. I have receipts of $1500.00 for the recent work performed.

The total list of work includes:
    1. New shocks, front and rear
    2. New Brakes, rotors and calibers, front and rear
    3. New rubber brake hoses
    4. Reconditioned brake servo
    5. New fuel filter
    6. New electric cooling fan
    7. Rebuilt carbs., (4)
    8. New coil
    9. New Crane electronic ignition system (better than original)
10 . New PU heat tube
    11. New temperature sensor
    12. New battery
    13. Rebuilt front end

All of the panels match up properly and it appears the car has never been in an accident. The paint is in good driver condition, which has a few rock chips and spider cracks due to age. The driver door sill covering has a tear. The tires have excellent tread and the jack is there. Glass is in very good condition. The power antenna does not work and headliner needs replacing. The AC does not hold a charge and leaks freon. The car has zero rust.

I am selling the car because I have my heart set on a convertible V12 XKE. I have been as honest about the condition of the car as possible, and anything i may have missed is minor. The shop at which I had the work performed can be contacted regarding its condition. They are willing to provide a written evaluation of the condition for a small fee. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to purchase a very nice V12 XKE below market price. With a paint job and the interior replaced, this would be a super nice classic Jaguar!
