Car returns to ebay 6/30/18
www.ebay.com/itm/XK/163125455721
Classified ad price: $29,995, seller gateway-classic-cars, mileage not stated car now said to be in Houston, Texas.
Sellers description:
Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this clean green 1971 Jaguar XKE. The E-Type is one of the icons of its generation as it made great head way with the high performance, low pricing, and sleek beauty all in one.
This ’71 XKE features the strong and original 5.3L V12 which is still in great running condition. The engine is mated up to a Richmond Racing 5-speed manual transmission which allows you to run through the powerband with a smile on your face. This car may not be the cleanest of the Jaguars out there but a great driver and a good start into the classic car world.
A survivor is the best way to describe this ’71 Jaguar XKE that we have here for sale. With a few blemishes, it simply adds history to the car and shows that even after 47 years a car can still run like a champ. The interior appears to be original and in good condition.

Lot #159167
This 1971 Jaguar E-Type Series III 2+2 is finished in British Racing Green over black leather and is powered by an a 5.3-liter V12 equipped with a Redline fuel injection system and linked with a five-speed manual and a limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes MSD ignition, a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a vintage-look radio with Bluetooth, and air conditioning. The current owner purchased the car in 2020, and work since 2023 has involved rebuilding the rack and pinion steering and replacing the clutch kit. This XKE 2+2 is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, the owner’s manual, service records, and a clean Arizona title in the owner’s name.
The car came finished from the factory in British Racing Green, and features include dual side mirrors, an antenna, a forward-hinged louvered hood, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes worn window and light seals.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 205/70 Cooper Evolution tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors and cross-drilled front rotors. The rack and pinion steering was rebuilt in January 2024.
The 2+2 cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include a vintage-look radio with Bluetooth, a locking glovebox, a Long shifter, and air conditioning. The heater core has been bypassed.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation with green backlights, including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 70k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership, though total mileage is unknown. The speedometer was repaired in 2012 and works intermittently. A replacement temperature gauge was installed in 2020.
The 5.3-liter V12 is equipped with a Redline fuel injection system and MSD electronic ignition.
A five-speed manual transmission was installed in place of the factory automatic gearbox some time ago, and it is linked with a limited-slip differential. A replacement clutch kit and master cylinder were installed in 2023 while the clutch slave cylinder was rebuilt.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists a build date of April 19, 1971 along with the factory colors and serial numbers.
