Ebay item 5/16/13
JCNA.com) concours ready for class S03, and should score in the 99's out of 100. It is not a 100 point car, it does have a few chip repairs on the paint. The good news is the paint is stable on the Jag, and shows not evidence of checking, blistering, or cracking, It is lovely,
I am also a past JCNA judge, and as a life long enthusiast, I have several National and Regional Trophies myself, and helped others do the same in both Concours and Slalom.
S03 allows for some owner modifications, such as the Alpine cd player, and the spinner knock offs as well as the Jag-eyes dot com headlight covers. The engine cluttering pollution equipment is gone as well, making for more power to the ground!
This Jag has a transmission upgrade, using all Jaguar parts, to a 4 speed transmission with the quick revving aluminum flywheel, This works especially well with the only one year, 1971, 9:1 high compression pistons. This car could easily introduce you to the coppers, so reserve is a talent with this car.
The automatic cars have a slightly high speed rear ratio in the diff, so this car can get better mileage and run cooler and last longer than a standard 4 speed car. It is a Joy on the highway, but beware, the force may be with you, to leave the pack in the rearview mirror. It does have the matching number, original engine!
The air conditionong has a new compressor, drier and expanasion valve, and will blow you hair back and frost your glasses!
I am told I am the 4th owner. It is obvious that the Jag has always had adult owners. I have been working on Jags for nearly 50 years, and almost all the work I do is fixing other mechanics work, That was not the case with this car. Everything is proper and rock and roll, and It drives as good as it looks for 42 years old, and I think the reserve is $10000 below the actual value for this superb Jag.
