Ebay item 11/2/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1971-Jaguar-XKE-V-12-2-2-Auto-A-C-P-S-Docs ...
Car has a buy it now price of $36,900 for 19 days.

Sellers description:
This Jaguar is ready to pounce and provide plenty of fun! Special ordered as a Christmas present for a piano salesman's wife, this car has been lovingly cared for by just three families over her lifetime. She spent most of her life in the south-west and has been kept in collections since migrating north. She's been driven less than 500 miles a year, with slightly less than 18,000 miles on her odometer.

Our mechanic went through this car making sure she has been maintained properly and that she is ready for a cross-country trip. The V-12 engine is strong and runs smoothly. The automatic transmission shifts easily and the power steering makes handling a breeze. The brakes and suspension are all in good condition. Even the factory A/C works properly!

The tan interior is in excellent condition. There is minor seat wear, typical of gently broken-in leather. The dash is damage free and all the glass is beautiful. The factory radio and all the controls work properly.

The sculpted metal exterior is clean and smooth. There is a color variation between panels. This is typical of paint jobs of this era. It is unknown if this is truly original paint. There is no sign of body damage, patch, or replacement. Our paint shop can repaint the car to today's standards. All the chrome is in excellent condition. The undercarriage was undercoated when new and remains in excellent rot free condition!

If you are looking for a classic Jaguar, this documented car is a rare find!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
