Ebay item 11/2/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-Series-3-1971-XKE-III-V12-2-2-Coupe-pwr-st ...
Opening bid $15,000 reserve not met no bids yet 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Car was in storage locally for more than 10 years after a new paint job, interior restoration. No other prior history available. I purchased the vehicle last year and had the engined tuned, carburetors rebuilt, transmission refurbished and differential fluid replaced to make the care drive well. U-joints, wheel bearings and hub replaced in the rear, several leaks addressed after the long storage period. Passed inspection October 2010. Few oil leaks from the motor persist (as expected for older British vehicle). Runs great, starts quickly and fun to drive. Tires are like new, has easy to change wheels, electrical system working well. No rust on the frame or body as noted by my mechanic, few rust spots and dents on the front grille. Pain chips on the hood vents from the motor heat. Air conditioner needs to be addressed as I did not examine this area other than knowing the fan works. Arm rest in the interior shows aged cracking. Has AM/FM Cassette Player. Have Repair Manual, parts catalogue for this vehicle.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
