    Sellers description:
The owner passed away and the car is being sold by his family. He was not the original owner. As far as we know, everything works. It was built 12/71. The mileage is original.

79,000 MILES, ON EBAY 12/07, SELLER WRITES:

    1972 Jaguar E-Type 2+2

78,944 Miles on this gorgeous numbers matching, blue plate California car. This is one of the nicest 2+2's I have seen for some time. These cars are getting rarer and rarer every year and are continuing to appreciate nicely. Car is equipped with factory air conditioning (does need a new compressor - great time to convert to new style freon), automatic transmission, factory wire wheels (we added the 2 spoke knock offs), white with a black leather interior. Runs great, currently is a Sunday driver that gets out about 2 to 3 times a month and never fails to turn heads anywhere it goes.

Body and paint are in excellent condition, very straight with no rust or dings, car was repainted in 1999 (have receipts) and the paint still looks new as this car is definitely a garage queen. Interior is in very good, mostly original condition. Beautiful Nardi steering wheel and NOS Jaguar OEM burl shifter handle are nice upgrades that were also available from dealers of the period. Headliner was recently replaced and visors redone with the correct grey wool headliner for this car. Radio was recently upgraded and professionally installed to a Kenwood CD with built in satellite. The driver seat is starting to crack, but has not fully opened anywhere. Have been debating replacing the seat covers or restoring the original leather.

Have the owners manual, including maintenance chart and wiring diagram as well as a full service manual. Cannot verify if these are original or reproductions.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
