Opening bid $14,900 reserve not met, no bids, 5 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
1973 Jaguar XKE 2+2 Series 3, being offered for sale with a reserve price of $30,000. Owned by the same car collector for over 25 years, this air conditioned XKE has only 42,375 miles and has been driven sparingly over the past many years. The car is extremely original, with the exception of an Alpine stereo and conversion to an electronic ignition, to improve driveability and reliability. Finished in Fern Grey with green leather interior, the paintwork is in very good condition. The original leather seating surfaces will need replacement (please refer to the photographs) and the foam in the seat headrests & visors has broken down over time. This car is fitted with a 5.3 liter V12 engine, manual (4 speed) transmission, factory chrome wire wheels and shod with Michelin XWX radial tires. The spare is thought to be original to the car. The tachometer operates on an intermittent basis. During ownership by the current owner, this Jaguar has always been stored in a climate controlled environment. The car has recently received a tune-up and a factory correct fuel pump. Inspection of this fine auto, located in Bradenton, Florida, is invited.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
