Ebay item 7/20/04
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $9,100.00 (Reserve not met), 2 bids, 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
This is a very, very straight and clean Jaguar!!
Please read the details below:
I found this super clean V-12 XKE Jaguar in 1993. It had only 8,523 original miles on it and no rust anywhere. It was equipped with a factory 4 speed transmission, chrome wire wheels and factory air conditioning. But it was a 2+2 coupe, so a roadster conversion was performed by a very professional (and expensive) Jaguar specialty shop using all Jaguar factory new parts.
The following services were performed during the conversion:
New tires and inner tubes
New knock off spinners
New complete stainless steel exhaust
New 1972 front bumpers (which now match the small 1973 rear bumpers)
New fuel check valve
New fuel pump and fuel filter
New fuel pressure regulator
New spark plugs
New fan belts
New coolant hoses
New brake master cylinder
Carburetors overhauled
Ignition amplifier kit installed
New and perfect paint - British Racing Green
New very high quality beige cloth top and top cover
New very high quality beige leather interior and beige carpet
New black carpet floor mats are used for everyday driving
The air conditioning is ice cold, the 4 speed shifts perfectly and the original chrome wire
wheels are still in perfect condition.
IVehicle Condition
It is driven only in the summer and kept in dry heated storage. It now has 12,130 miles since new in 1973 and could be driven anywhere. It is totally reliable and totally Jaguar inside and out.

I am the 3rd owner. This XKE was converted from a 2+2 to an OTS back in 1993 by 2nd owner using all NOS Jaguar parts. I recently detailed and painted the engine bay back to new. Although it is a conversion one cannot tell without checcknig the vin plate. It currently has 12,500 original miles and is an excellent driver and is sure to be a participants favorite but not a concours car because of the conversion. It is totally rust free and finished in BRG that still looks new.

This car now has 14,450 miles on it. It still runs and looks great. It is still located in New Bedford, MA. I still do not regret buying a 2+2 to OTS conversion. It may be worth a little less than a true OTS but I have turned down offers in the $40K's so it is worth what someone is willing to pay for a nearly perfect XKE. NADA book value for this car is nearly $70,000 so it is like having mnoey in the bank. Although I would hate to part with my dream car everthing is for sale if the price is right!

This car now has 15,000 miles on it. It still looks and runs like new, The NADA value was at $126,250 last year and is still around $100,000. I understand that it is worth a little less because it is a conversion but I would consider offers in the mid $40s. I won't be disappointed if I cannot find a buyer because I would rather keep it than sell it cheap!

Well it is now July 2012 and I still own this beautiful XKE. It has less than 16,000 original miles and still looks and runs great. I only get drive it a couple of hundred miles per year but do hope to use it more often.

Current bid $41,995, no reserve, 12 bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
I bought this 1973 Jaguar E-type back in July of 2004 with 12,130 original miles on it. It was for sale on Ebay by the second owner in Poland, OH. He bought the car from the first owner in November 1993 when it had 8,523 miles on it. The first owner had leased it new in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have a copy of an old title deed to document the low mileage. The second owner had been looking for a perfect E-type convertible and found this 1973 2+2 rust-free coupe in near perfect condition. He bought it and then had it converted to a convertible by a "very professional (and expensive) Jaguar specialty shop using all new Jaguar factory OEM parts."
At that time he had the car color changed from Sable to British Racing Green. They installed a new windshield, trunk, rear fenders, a new convertible top frame and a new convertible top. He also replaced the ugly 1973 front bumper with a 1972 bumper, which did not have the large rubber over-riders. He installed a new stainless steel exhaust, knock-off spinners, new tires, a new master cylinder and a complete new leather interior. The engine was tuned, the carburetors were rebuilt and all belts and hoses were replaced. He also installed an aircraft quality fuel pump. He only drove it in the summers and kept it in dry heated storage for 11 years and 3,607 miles.
When I bought the car in 2004 the exterior and interior were still in near perfect condition but the engine needed some detailing. I spent the 2004-05 winter months removing the carburetors, intakes, cam covers, hoses, spark wires, and anything else that could be easily removed from the top of the V12. I replaced all of the hoses, clamps, spark plugs, distributor cap and belts. I totally dismantled the four Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and installed a rebuild kit on each of them after polishing them to a bright shine. I cleaned and polished every nut, bolt, bracket, tubing, and aluminum part. They were then clear-coated with high temperature paint. The cam covers and air cleaners got a fresh coat of paint. The underside of the bonnet was painted British Racing Green to match the exterior and the frame rails, firewall and inner fenders were painted gloss black. I have pictures documenting the work that took me several months. When I finished the engine bay looked like a brand new car and it still looks great. I pulled the gas tank and cleaned it inside and out before sealing the tank's interior and painting the exterior. I also replaced all the brake lines and bled the brakes.
I have only driven this car on the best of summer days and it has been stored in my heated garage. The car currently has 16,172 original miles on it. Yes, that is just only 4K miles in 10 years. I won several 1st place awards at local car shows. The wires wheels are original and still look like new. The tires look very good but they are 21 years old and should be replaced. The rotors and brakes are still the originals from 1973. The spare tire and wheel are also original and have never been used. The car starts right up and runs great. The 4-speed shifts very smoothly and the factory original A/C works fine. The radio is the original Blaupunkt but I never use it. I enjoy listing to the quiet purr of the V12. The clock was rebuilt with modern inner works and the black dash was replaced with a custom wooden one. I did have a problem with the Butec voltage regulator years ago and replaced it with an after-market clone that looked like the original. It did not fix the problem and after two years of tracing wires, rebuilding the alternator and searching the Internet I found another voltage regulator for a Rolls Royce that could be used on a V12 E-type. That solved the problem. Just my luck - the after-market unit was defective!!

Well it looks like this fine 1973 XKE is about to change hands to it's 4th owner. I listed it on EBay yesterday and it quickly reached my reserve price, which was very reasonable. I will upgrade the location once the auction ends and it is shipped to the new owner.
Thanks Paul for tracking all these cars which helps to document the locations and condition over the years. I have thoroughly enjoyed owning and driving this beautiful E-Type.
