Seen on eBay, 4/2003. Ad reads:

"Manufactured in August of 1970. This car is titled as a 1971 which was most likely the year it was sold. Regretably, I am selling the car to help support the purchase of a new house.
I drove the car last summer and fall and have completely sorted it out. I have serviced the following items: valve clearance, clutch master cylinder, complete ignition system (I have the original plug wires), steering column bearings, upper ball joint, floor carpets, interior door chrome, bonnet strut, splash guard rubber, carburetor cleaning and synchronization.

This car can be driven anywhere with confidence. You should own this car if your looking for a Jaguar XKE roadster to drive to your favorite getaway or just cruise around town. The car has never overheated or let me down while out on the road. The overall condition and appearance of this car is such that you can drive it anywhere. You need not worry or be a nervous wreck about the slightest bit of sand or gravel during everyday driving conditions. Although it is not a perfect show car (which is only a temporary condition), this car will bring considerable fun and attention to anyone driving it.

    Vehicle Condition

A Jaguar XKE is a monocoque design (unibody). Therefore, the body of an XKE is everything. I had that in mind when I purchased this car. The body appears to be all original without any rust or collision damage. The floor pans, lower rockers, and trunk floor are very solid and appear to be original. Even the two original trunk floor drains are still intact (often these are filled with body filler). All body panels fit very well with even gaps. The car is straight and only subtle imperfections can be seen at just the right angle under perfect light.
The paint has good depth and is shiny. There are a few small scratches and chips but the paint is generally too nice to redo.

The engine accelerates throughout the entire range of power. It maintains excellent oil pressure and always runs in the normal temperature range. The gearbox shifts well (all synchro) and the clutch is strong. The suspension is tight and the car tracks well. The brakes are effecient and don't pull.

The interior and soft top show minimal signs of wear and there are no tears or sagging in the seats. The interior chrome is good to excellent. The exterior chrome shows some signs of wear but is in good condition overall. "

It has always been started daily throughout the winter months and has always been garaged and meticulously cared for. It has a clear Montana Title.

There is absolutely NO RUST. The chrome is in very, very good condition.

Current bid $21,300 reserve not met, 9 bids, 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Scottsdale, Arizona.

    Sellers description:
Beautiful and well maintained 1971 Jaguar XKE E-Type 4.2L Roadster with a four speed transmission and head turning good looks. This car came out of a private collection of cars in Colorado Springs, CO and has had well over $6,000 re-building the motor and restoring the interior. This car has a very appealing color combination of metallic silver with black interior. This jag runs great and is a true please to drive.

The body on this Jaguar is absolutely beautiful very straight. It shows no signs of any prior accident history and is totally rust free. This car received a total repaint in 2005 done in "metallic silver" that looks beautiful and is ready for the next cruise night or show. The paint was hand rubbed too a smooth as glass finish and looks amazing. This eye-catching color, paired with the chrome wheels, makes this Jaguar a real beauty! This ready-to-drive car you can enjoy just as it is - all you have to do is get in and turn the key! The door and lid gaps are all even and straight as they should be. The trim on the car looks excellent and still shines beautifully. All the chrome shines brightly and looks excellent.

The black leather interior was just recently done and features new seat covers, top, and top boot. The dash and gauge cluster are clean and bright and read correct. The wood steering wheel looks classic in this beautiful roadster. Everything works in the car including the wipers, radio, lights, and gauges etc. This interior has a very fresh and clean look to it - it really is a sight to see.

Mechanically, this '71 Jaguar 4.2L straight six runs and drives great. It has a recently rebuilt 4.2L six cylinder engine that runs very strong and really gets up and goes. The motor compartment of this car is extremely clean and correct. I have receipts totaling over $5k doing the motor work on this car in 2006. The transmission shifts "nice and smooooth". The car drives straight and feels nice going down the road. This Jag is one of the best driving classics I've ever been behind the wheel of. It cruises around town with pleasurable ease.

This '71 Jaguar Roadster is a rare find because of its great drivability and its status as one of the most beautiful cars ever produced. It lacks nothing and can suit any need, from the nice driver to a weekend toy. This is one of the last Series 2 XKE Jaguars built because of it's late '71 production number. These early jags are getting harder and harder to find and this is a perfect example of a nice, honest car that is ready to drive and enjoy.
