Ebay item 10/2/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $8,300, no reserve, 9 bids, 6 days left in auction. 90k miles.
Sellers description:
The car is complete and solid, but needs cosmetic updating.
This car was purchased 12 years ago with the intention of restoring it, but she never had a chance. 6 years ago, the car was driven for a few miles on a test drive. So the engine runs, drives and brakes.
The car has been sitting on a heated garage along her sister E-type under a car cover since 1993.
The minimun work required to put it back on the road is a new battery, spark plugs and an oil change. The car ir ready for restoration.
Condition: Body shows some rust spots and paint bubbles in some areas but panels are straight and restorable.
Interior is complete with original radio, comes with all the gauges (needs cleaning) and show acceptable condition. Both leather seats upholstery is cracked and in need of repair. Door inside panels are complete and window cranks operate. Doors, trunk and hood operate well and seem quite solid.
Convertible top operates having fabric in great shape and looks as if it was replaced recently.
Engine compartment is dusty but there are no signs of oil leaks. Nothing seems to be missing. Please bear in mind that the car has been sitting for over 10 years.
Tires and rims are in good shape, one tire that has a slow leak.
Front and backlights are complete and in good shape.
Trunk compartment is also in good shape having a car jack included.
Bottom line: The car needs cosmetic attention but it does not need any major component. This could be your perfect project.

Car returns to ebay 12/6/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-SERIES-2-1971-JAGUAR-E-TYPE-ROADSTER-C ...
Current bid $10,101, no reserve, 8 bids, 3 days left in auction. Car now said to be located in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Sellers descriptoin:
Here is a classic roadster waiting for restoration. It has been in storage since 1993. The engine turns over and runs but the clutch is siezed from standing for so long - very typical of Jaguars. The transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. The body is in need some typical rust repai such as the both rockers, however, the floors are intact except for the furthest corners which have started to show signs of rust through. I wouldnt think the entire floor section would need to be replaced. The trunk is rust free. The worst rust is on the lower edges of the front bonnet and the hinge points - therefore I am including a completely rust free replacement bonnet as part of the deal. It is from a rust free california car. The rest of the rust is surface rust where paint has chipped away. The seats have splits on the bottom part. The dash is super nice. The roof is also super nice with the usual yellowing of the window. The door bottoms are rust free and the lower edge of the drivers door is bubbling. The frame rails for the engine seem fine although it is hard to see all parts of it. This car is a pretty complete example of a desireable Jaguar and would be ideal for someone who has wanted an entry level way into the world of E-Types.
Previous auctino ended at $15,875 after 21 bids.
