Sellers description:
This beautiful 1971 Jaguar E-Type Series II is an excellent example of a high quality show car but it is definitely not a Trailer Queen. The car was my husband, Bill’s, pride and joy. Bill was a long-time Jaguar enthusiast and well known throughout the Jaguar community in the Southeast. Before he passed away last summer, he left explicit instructions for me to not let this car just sit. He wanted it to be driven and enjoyed as he had always done. I am not able to drive the car and although family and friends have taken it on outings for me and “exercised” it, I’ve decided that it’s time for the car to go to a new home.

The car has won an award at every car show it has entered. This past April 2005, at Legends on the Green at World Golf Village British Car Show, it won overall People’s Choice Best of Show out of 77 cars in attendance. In the JCNA sanctioned Concours at that event, it won 1st Place in it’s class with a score of 9.99.

As well a being a show winner, the car is in excellent mechanical condition. Bill attended events and car shows all over the Southeast and always drove the car to his destination. He did not believe in cell phones or AAA because he knew that his car was reliable enough to get him wherever he needed to go and back home again. The few things he encountered were easily fixed and he was on his way.

Listed below are some of the details of the car:
o Exterior- Excellent condition, paint is beautiful, no dents, no scratches, no rust
o Interior- Very, very Good- Interior renewed during restoration in ’85. Seats covered in Vinyl as was owner’s preference over leather. One small repair in drivers seat shown in detail photo below.
o Mechanical- Excellent- do not hesitate to get in this car and drive wherever you want to go. Oil pressure, water temp, all excellent. The engine runs as good as it looks. The pictures you see of the engine portray it exactly as great as it really looks. This isn’t a case of pictures making it look better than it is as sometimes happens on engine shots.
o We have owned car for 20 years – 2nd owner
o Car always garaged.
o 244th from end of Series II’s off the line.
o Ground up restoration 1985 with photo documentation.
o Engine replaced in 2000 with a rebuilt series II engine
o Continuous maintenance by owner, many improvements and upgrades since that time.
o Engine fully detailed to show-car standards
o New clutch in 2002.
o Rear-end fully reworked in 2003.
o Some spare parts and car cover go with car.
o Show Car – has won an award in every show ever entered.
o Best of Show in JCNA sanctioned Concours this spring and first place in People’s Choice classification.
o One of the finest drivers around – needs to be driven and enjoyed.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
