    Ebay item 8/10/05

Current bid $11,100.00 (Reserve not met), 6 bids, 4 days left in auction. Buy it now price $33,500.

    Sellers description:
This is an excellent driver that has been professionally appraised. The owner has had the car for 5 years and only put about 800 miles on it driving it on sunny days in the spring and fall. This is an excellent running vehicle and comes with all of the maintenance records. This car can be driven anywhere. It also comes with the manuals . The interior is in clean condition . The owner is selling this car due to a recent divorce. It would probably only take a few thousand dollars to bring this car up to a show car instead of an excellent driver. Here is the report from the appraisal. The body and the paint are all in good condition ( except for minor rust at bottom of both doors). The undercarriage is in fair condition. It has an aftermarket am/fm stereo. Original leather bucket seats and Dayton wires. There is also very minor paint overspray. All of the tires are in good condition and the spare is listed as fair. All of the glass is good. All of the interior is listed as clean with the exception of the trunk liner has a tear in it. The engine is a DOHC 6 cylinder that is rated at 246 horse power, 4 speed transmission, disc brakes, independent rack and pinion and a newer duralast battery rated @ 875 cold cranking amps. In closing the notes from the appraiser were as follows: Very Good overall some rust under doors, chrome fade through the rear bumper, and minor paint overspray under.

Current bid $18,000 reserve not met, 4 bids, 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $28,950. Car still in Englewood, Florida.

    Sellers description:
My wife and I are selling our 1971 Jaguar XKE Series 2, 6 cyl convertible. It has 58,029, believed to be actual miles. It is a gorgeous pale yellow, officially called Primrose Yellow.

The six cylinder engine has had a recent tune up and oil change. It is by every indication believed to be original to the car and with 58,029 actual miles. The car starts right up every time, runs cool, shifts smooth, and drives very, very tight. It has unbelievable handling, and rides like it is on rails. I recently had the brake hoses done on the front.

The interior is original, and for it being original and 37 years old, it is exceptional. The dash and console are very near perfect, with no rips or tears or fading. The seat belts are the short shoulder harness type. Original Smith Gauges. The heater works fine, although the blower stopped working...which means nothing to us due to being in Florida! The black leather seats are in great condition with no rips or tears, a few tiny scratches. Sanyo AM/FM that I believe is what came with it from the factory. The black soft top is in excellent condition, I do not know if it is original to the car or not. The car also has a tonnaou type cover which can be seen in the pictures.

The body panels and doors fit together exceptionally well and it has a nice stance. The car has been repainted at least once several years ago, and is still very presentable. It has a beautiful shine, no checking, or fading. Has a few minimal road chip and imperfections. I would say the paint is about a seven, and excellent driver quality. The chrome is really nice, no pitting. From what I have been able to decipher during my ownership the car has very minimal rust in the area typical to Jaguars...I had the front floor panels repaired for prevention purposes where I noticed some slight rust coming.

New Michelin 15 tires. Perfect condition wire wheels I believe original to the car, to total five including the spare in the trunk....with a 4 ply that is believed to be the original spare.

My wife and I have really enjoyed the car, however we have always been more into mid year (63-67) corvettes. This is the only Jaguar we have ever owned, and in truth were terrified of them initially! Despite all of the Jaguar horror stories, which we now believe either were urban legend, old wives tales, ... or we got a really extremely good one by a fluke!! We have had many beach cruises in this car, and it runs like a dream, and has been totally reliable.

Previous auction best offer was $25,000.
