This car was previously registered in California USA with licence plae'JAGLXXI' & used in the Rebondo Beach area. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Imported to Australia in 2000

I am currently restoring the car. I have found that the rear hatch is aluminium instead of steel. It is identical in all respects to a steel item and even has the body number of the car written inside in crayon which suggests it was fitted at the factory. The car has the original paint and the way the rear hatch unbolted suggests that it has never been removed from the car. This is consistgent with all other aspects of the vehicle. Can anyone provide any info re aluminum rear hatches? No one that I have spoken to seems to know.

I bought this car in March 2019. It had been restored over many years up to about 2016, by one person who then sold it. It then had a lot of money doing a repaint, new interior etc by a subsequent owner. Now in great shape.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
