This 1971 Jaguar XKE Series II coupe is a non-running project that is finished in Signal Red over black leather. It is equipped with a 4.2-liter inline-six and a four-speed manual transmission as well as a limited-slip differential, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a Nardi steering wheel, a cassette stereo, and an air conditioning system. The seller purchased the car in 2001 and is said to have driven it for a few years before placing it in storage in 2005. This XKE is now offered with a factory steering wheel, a tool kit, a front bezel, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Signal Red, and exterior equipment includes a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes that the rubber seals are aged and cracked.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by safety-style knockoffs, and the older Michelin tires need to be replaced. The XKE’s four-wheel disc brakes feature inboard rear rotors.
The cabin features black leather bucket seats along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include a cassette stereo, a locking glovebox, and an air conditioning system.
The Nardi steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 42k miles.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and does not run.
The car is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The California title lists the car’s VIN prepended by “J71”
