Feb. 2001 Jaguar World states the car was originally supplied to L. Vard., Dublin, 8/11/61.

First owner was Leslie Vard, brother of Jaguar works rally driver Cecil Vard, and well know test trial driver.
The car had a number of well known Irish owners and was raced in the Phoenix Park.
It remains in long term Irish ownership requiring full restoration.

Leslie Vard finished 4th overall in the Altidore Hillclimb on September 9th 1961. The car was featured in the following week's Autosport as well as in a Gael Linn cinema newsreel. In November Cecil Vard later borrowed the E type for a full road test in the Sunday Independent newspaper.
