Car offered by Coy's 7/06

Description:
1962 Jaguar S1 E-Type Lightweight specification
Registration no: XWV 829A
Chassis no: 850330
Price: Refer Department
This series one example was rebuilt to Light weight specification in the latter part of the eighties. Finished in Daytona Violet Blue with black interior, the car is fitted with aluminium bonnet, doors, boot and roof with perspex side windows. The car is fitted with full roll cage, race harnessess, fire extinguisher and a race exhaust system with manifolds, center pipes and rear silencers. The car is currently running with a road exhaust system and the correct Dunlop 'D-Type style' peg wheels.
The 3.8 litre engine is powered by triple 45 DCOE Weber carburrettors and free flow exhaust system. The cylinders have been rebored + 060 + and the cylinder head gas flowed. and the car has the benefit of being cooled by a Kenlowe fan.
The gearbox is a 5 speed Getrag unit with competition clutch plate and limited slip differential and the fuel tank is large capacity alloy example with a filter and twin pressure regulated Bendix fuel pumps.
This car is ready to be used as a very exciting fast road car or as an equally exciting track car, looking fantastic with its white stripped nose and lightweight body.
The history file has a number of old MOT's dating back through the eighties and comes complete with the old buff log book and a receipt for the sale of the car in 1970! An oppurtunity to purchase one of the most attractive cars ever to be produced and evocative of the original lightweight that dominated sports car racing then and historic racing now.
