A reference to this car was found in the documentation for VIN 860047. Apparently the car was left to die. Here is the quote:
"#47 arrived in Fremantle via the shipping company of James Ware Pty Ltd, en-route to M.S. Brooking, the Perth Jaguar agent where she was entered as stock book number 213. This was the second Coupe to emigrate 'Down Under' and is now our oldest existing factory delivered car. Sadly, the first, #860012, disappeared years ago, last sighted in an advanced rusted state in Brisbane."

I owned 860026 in about 1976 . It was originally UK delivered and made its way to Sydney I believe in about 1975 . It had done about 30000 miles when I bought it from Les Miller and was opalescent silver blue with CWW. My contribution to its preservation was to rear end a Valiant and thus destroy the "inserted louvres" bonnet (hood) . I sold it in this condition shortly thereafter . I saw it in the mid 80s well maintained but without its lovely grey original interior -4.2 seats and acquamarine shag pile carpet -and with a production bonnet. . I suspect it's still in Melbourne somewhere .

860012 was owned by Lester Deakin in Brisbane.
He was the first owner.
He bought it because he was doing lots of trips Brisbane to Sydney and he found he couldnt sleep in the roadster so he bought a coupe.
Lester has since passed away.A wonderful character.
I saw 860012 on the Gold Coast sometime in the 70s, it was in a sad state.I believe it no longer exists.Lester told me that old no 12 was the first coupe sold in Qld.His words, not mine.

I bought #860012 some years ago in a very advanced state of corrosion & stored this car ever since.
We are just about to start a full nut & bolt restoration which should be completed in the next 12 months.
We will use as much of the original parts as possible but due to the state of the body shell will need new floors, inner sills etc & the main bulkhead is ok but will need sections letting in locally in areas.
