Ebay item 11/3/04
cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid GBP 25,000.00, no reserve, no bids yet, 8 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
E. Type Jaguar, Series I. 1962. FHC. 3.8LT.
Old English White with Red Leather Interior. Wire wheels knock off. Rare flat floor. Moss gear box. Manual. Ex-Africa no rust. Right hand drive.
This car was purchased new and went to Switzerland being owened by a steel tycoon. It had a full refurb in 1985, having done only 9338 miles since then. It won Concourse De Elegance in its class in Switzerland. It was then purchased by the CEO of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange who left South Arica and moved to Zimbabwe (Rhodesia). I purchased the vehicle off him approx 4 years ago in perfect condition. I have only added 2,000 miles in that time and it has always being stored under cover and on a carpet.
Due to the political situation in Zimbabwe, we left and moved to the U.K recently. This, the purest of all E Types is now for sale, also being voted car of the century.
It is in excellent condition, and any test is welcome. It has a full MOT certificate.
Original Reg UK No. 429NPP
This car does not have a welded louver bonnet.

Auction description:
The Spirit of Motoring Ascot
Ascot Racecourse
Saturday 20th October 2007
This fixed head coupe example, one of the highly sought after early flat floor models, spent many years in the warm climes of first South Africa and then Zimbabwe before returning in 2004 to Britain where it was re-registered on January 12 2005. Finished in white with red leather, it retains all the correct early E Type features such as the bucket seats, aluminium centre dashboard panel and dynamo. It is presented in good condition throughout and, judging from the underside and under-bonnet areas of the car, it has seen little wet weather use, while the 205/70 Dunlop SP Sport tyres are in almost new condition. It comes with a V5 registration document and assorted documentation relating to its export/import. An attractive and highly desirable early E Type.
