I owned the car from 1988 to 2001. During this time it was restored from a wreck to A1 Condition. Most of the lower body was replaced, together with the bonnet, wiring, clutch, the original light blue interior and seats were replaced and trimmed in dark blue. The engine was rebored, new bearings, pistons, valves and seats, and most ancillary components replaced or restored. It was repainted in silver cellulose paint. I used the car regularly once finished. Several photos of the restored car feature in the book 'Jaguar E-Type' by Nigel Thorley, published by Haynes in 2001. A beautiful car.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
