In 1979 this car was located in Pennsylvania. At that time it was reported to be essentially rust-free. Dispatch date June 26, 1961.

This beautiful 1961 Jaguar Etype is offered for sale for the first time in 48 years. This car was purchased from the original owner and has always been garaged and well taken care of. This Jaguar underwent a full restoration approximately 10 years ago. This car is of investment grade quality for the investor or collector. I haven't been registered on this site for much more than an hour and I've already received an answer to my query. I appreciate the well-documented info, but find that it only confuses the matter further. As I mentioned prior, I have owned the car since 1972 --- in Pennsylvania ---- where the above documented car also lived ---- and had identical numbers on the build plate as the documented car ! I have checked the build plate on my car and it is obviously in original condition. How can two different cars have the same Serial # and Engine # ? I was surprised to see the engine number offered to me despite the fact that I didn't list it in my original post.

At first I thought that the difference might be that one was RHD and the other LHD, but no ! My car is gray/red LHD from the factory and the other is red/tan LHD! Anybody have any ideas of wherein the confusion lies ? I have a recent document from Jaguar certifying my car and a document from 1973 with basically the same information. A conundrum indeed !
