Sometime before 1969, this car had been re-painted CM " Daytona Yellow," and had its interior trimmed with tan vinyl and burgundy carpets. It was purchased in the summer of 1969 by the father of its owner as of 1987, and was driven almost daily to work. This owner learned to drive a manual transmission with this car in 1971. In 1975, the head was pulled, and the car went into storage. In 1977, the car was trailered to another sight, where it was stored for about ten years, after which ownership was taken over by the son (now the current owner). About January of 1985, the car was transported again. In 1987 it was awaiting restoration. At this time, it showed a little rust, but was basically very original. It had the early convertible-top chrome strip with the lip on the bottom, chrome wire wheels, T-key covers marked "/6", the early wide windshield trim strip with clip, round crossection steering wheel , dual trunk 1 sealing rubber mounted on trunk lid, three trunk drain holes, early-style header tank, no hardtop brackets, necked-down convertible top clasps, flat dash top, rubber pads on top of the windscreen pillars, single-piece top to rear-view mirror rod mount, body number plate mounted on the firewall, narrow lip on air cleaner edge, early-style thick plastic caps with vertical spade clips on brake- and clutch-fluid reservoirs, the early rnulti-screw heater, and pumpkin-colored cylinder head paint. It also had pressed in louvers, which is unusual for such an early CHASSIS number. Perhaps the center section had been replaced. The heat-shield for the brake- and clutch-fluid reservoirs was unusual in that it was not bent.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
