1962 Jaguar E-Type Series I Roadster
ESTIMATE: $90,000 - $120,000
CHASSIS NO: 875821
The stunning Jaguar offered here is, most recently and impressively, the 2003 JCNA Grand National Champion in addition to many of its previous accolades. Some of those awards of distinction include Best in Show and Class at the Challenge Championship and two 100-point Best in Show scores at the Austin and Dallas, Texas JCNA meets. Another award of some note included the Sir William Lyons Best in Show award which was sponsored by Jaguar Cars of North America in May of 2003 at the Phoenix, Arizona event. The impressive results this particular example has posted are continually outstanding and “Best in Show” and “100 points” do not truly begin to explain how stunning this early Series I E-Type Roadster is.
Beginning with the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, the Jaguar presented here, was submitted to a full restoration by the experienced staff of Jeff’s Resurrections, notably we understand this firm has produced 12 JCNA National Champions in all different categories in around ten years, a feat truly impressive given the scope and field of the Jaguar restoration community. The build sheet showed the E-Type to be finished in Carmen Red with black interior, just as it remains today. The restoration was costly and exacting and the resulting awards are a testament to excellence in both the original design and the restoration. We are delighted to present such a fine example at our Amelia Island auction.
