Ebay item 7/27/17
www.ebay.com/itm/1961-Jaguar-E-Type-/201999298212
Car has a buy it now price of $185,000 for 6 days, seller ltdslip, 32k miles, car now said to be in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Sellers description:
Early E-type flat floor roadster with factory hardtop including rare rear window chrome. Early latches as well. Matching numbers. Black w/Red interior. I've owned this E for many years and I don't anticipate getting around to having it restored. Runs, steers and drives. Front brakes work. Rears are out as they were to be serviced after cad plating but never got around to it. This car is complete although everything is not in the pictures. sound original floors. Nice bulkheads. The bonnet is really nice although not correct for this car. You may have noticed that it has an outside lock bonnet which is from one of the first 500 cars. It's stamped 428. It must have had an accident early in it's life. 164/65 PA inspection sticker. Many early features/parts. Butlers license lights. Smooth plenum. Early 3 post intake manifold. weld nuts on the sills which is why an OBL bonnet will work. Dished outer door finishers and two piece door skins. Original Marston Excelsior radiator. 3:31 Diff with early hollow half shafts. Smooth oil pan. Gauges, steering wheel, dash, etc. all original. Original CVD key fob. Original hood envelope with body number in crayon inside. No tools and Shelly jack sorry to say. Original carpets/ hardura and all other original trim panels included. Not a bad running engine. I just replaced the jet/diaphragms and cleaned the carbs. fires up well. Electrics work. lights, turn signals, back up lights, head lights, wipers, fans...all except horns and washer. Generator is discharging. Forward and reverse work of course. Clutch is nearing the end of it's life. NJ Title and Heritage Certificate. Car is now located at my beach house in Atlantic City, NJ as pictured.

Any comments on why this car has NOT sold yet?

"early latches as well"... this can't be right... last LHD OTS with external bonnet locks is 875385 produced late august 1961... the bonnet on this car must be from an earlier car or someone put the locks on later... moreover... you can see the internal bonnet locks on the third interior photo

probably is the bonnet from a earlier car... you can see the original red paint on the inside...

excuses... didn't read the sellers description "The bonnet is really nice although not correct for this car. You may have noticed that it has an outside lock bonnet which is from one of the first 500 cars"

"early latches as well" refers to the three latches securing the hard top to the windscreen; not the outside locks on the bonnet.
