Description
Jaguar : XKE
1962 XKE Roadster
Miles: 97660 Doors: 2 doors
Transmission: Manual Interior: Black
Engine: 6 - Cyl. Year: 1962
VIN Number: J62877118 Exterior: Burgundy/Maroon
Vehicle Description: This is a California car with no signs of serious (if any) rot or rust. The paint is an older respray that is showing its age. The chrome is in very good condition. The convertible top is vinyl and the window is clear and there are no holes or rips. The seats are done in vinyl and are in good shape. The wire wheels are chrome and the tires are fairly new. The exact mileage is unknown but could be correct. The doors and bonnet fit well. The head on the engine is matching numbers. This is a great opportunity to own an early XKE roadster at a very fair price.
Vehicle Condition: The engine is not matching numbers, and this is very typical of XKEs.

Car to be at auction 3/14
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php
Auction description:
Lot 116 - 1962 Jaguar E-Type Series I 3.8 Litre Roadster
Estimate: €120,000 - €135,000
Registration Number: EU Registered
Chassis Number: 877118
The car on offer today was imported from California to Europe by the owner some ten years ago. It had a mechanical rebuild regarding suspension front and rear with new bushings, shocks etc along with the brakes and the original Moss-gearbox has also been rebuilt. Everything is to original specification except the rear axle that has got a very long gear ratio making the car very relaxing to drive on long journeys.
The owner reports that the 3.8 engine has good compression and oil pressure and were are told it runs very sweetly.
The car received a bare metal repaint some years ago in one the most beautiful but also the most forgotten original Jaguar E-Type colour of Bronze which was only available in 1961 and 1962 and was later replaced with a paler shade of sand. The top class repaint is matched with a new tan interior and convertible top. This is a truly outstanding example of the 3.8 E-Type Roadster.
