Sellers comment:
I am selling my beautiful silver Jaguar convertible XKE 1964 roadster which was purchased from Donovan Jaguar Motorcar in Lenox Massachusetts in June 1994. I am the first owner after a complete restoration that was done by Brian Donovan. The photograph of the listing by Donovan shows all of the specifications of the restoration. Photographs of the restoration are displayed in his showroom. Since the purchase of the car, 10 years ago, less than 5000 miles have been put on the car. It has only been driven in the summer and has been in a garage the rest of the year. The car has been serviced by Donovan Motors since its purchase and has been shown at the Limerock CT automobile show. The car is in beautiful condition. This is an excellent vehicle which has been lovingly cared for and maintained.
Vehicle Condition
The car is in excellent condition.

Sellers description:
The St. Louis Car Museum is very proud to offer this stunningly restored 1964 Jaguar XKE 3.8 Series I roadster. The marquee Jaguar restoration facility called Donovan Motorcars professionally restored this vehicle between April of 1992 through June of 1994 with only 71,482 original miles showing on the odometer! The entire body and frame were stripped to bare metal and painted Opalescent Silver Grey. The all Dark Blue leather interior is new with a matching canvas soft top. All the exterior chrome was refinished at an astronomical cost, and all weather stripping and window rubber replaced with new. This restoration also included a complete engine rebuild by reconditioning the original, number’s matching block, head, and crank. The block and head were dipped, honed and bored. New main bearings, rod bearings, pistons, HP cams, balanced crank, timing chains, lapped valves, valve guides & valve springs were all installed. The original triple SU carburetors were rebuilt and polished with new Grose needles and fuel lines, polished the intake manifold, re-cored the radiator, new water pump, new fuel tank, and rebuilt generator with new brushes. The exhaust manifold was porcelain coated. The original gearbox was rebuilt with fresh first and second gears, gaskets, seals, and clutch eliminating any concern of grinding gears! All body and suspension bushing were replaced and the steering rack and column were rebuilt.
The interior is completely new! The dash and seats were stripped and professionally reupholstered in respective vinyl and leather, the switches cleansed and polished, all six gauges were rebuilt, fresh interior carpet, center console with radio deleted, new wood steering wheel, and all new wiring harnesses throughout (main, bonnet, dash, and rear)!
The entire braking system was refurbished with stainless steel sleeved brake calipers, new rotors; brake pads, stainless steel lines, and wheel bearings. The suspension received new competition torsion bars, front competition sway bar, rack mounts, upper and lower ball joints, front shocks, and heavy-duty rear springs. The 7” chrome wire spoke wheels are brand new with Pirelli tires. And finished with the superb sound of a stainless steel exhaust system!
It is truly a breathtaking example, even with a now 15-year-old restoration! The current odometer reading is only 77,643 actual miles! This outstanding, early E-type needs nothing to be enjoyed right away! It comes complete with matching spare, jack and wheel wrench, owner’s handbook, and receipts of the entire restoration and maintenance through 2004 by Donovan Jaguar! Make no mistake; restoring a car to this degree is growing increasingly expensive to complete these days. This is a chance to own a car restored with brilliant, show quality results at a fraction of those costs.
