Ebay item 10/27/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1964-Jaguar-XKE-Base-3-8L-/271090851001
Current bid $12,100 reserve not met, 6 bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1964 Jag XKE OTS that has been fully restored. The body and paint are exceptional as well as the interior. The top is dark brown and as new. The wheels(knockoffs) are in excellent condition and the tires are Pirelli P 44's. The vehicle has 10,363 miles since total restoration on a rust free west coast car to begin with. The color is called Goldensand and is original. The 3.8 liter motor (RA7231-9) is matching number except the head (RA3640-9).The head is from 1963 judging from the number. I have been told by (ahem, experts) that Jaguar would use anything on their shelves in that era so this might be the original head. When I purchased this vehicle 13 years ago from the owner he stated he did not change the head. I am a collector approaching 70 years and have decided to sell some of my collection. This car is collector quality!!! There is not a mark on the body and everything lines up better than the factory ever did. There are no leaks (seriously) under the vehicle. The odometer was set to "O" when it was restored and currently shows 10,363 miles. This is a outstanding example of time gone by and getting rarer by the day for quality pieces such as this. The title is free and clear and in my name(California).

Sellers description:
1964 JAGUAR XKE SERIES 1 CONVERTIBLE IN PRISTINE CONDITION. COLOR IS THE ORIGINAL GOLDENSAND WITH CHOCOLATE LEATHER INTERIOR AND MATCHING CONVERTIBLE TOP. BODY AND PAINT ARE EXCEPTIONAL. ONLY 10K MILES SINCE TOTAL RESTORATION. MOTOR IS ORIGINAL MATCHING #(RA7231-9) WITH THE HIGH COMPRESSION HEAD. THE HEAD # IS FROM 1963(RA3640-9). I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY XKE CARNUTS THAT NOT ALL HEADS MATCHED THE ENGINE # AS THE FACTORY WOULD USE WHATEVER WAS ON THE SHELF IN THAT ERA. THE MOTOR IS ORIGINAL AND COMPLETELY REBUILT. RUNS GREAT! THIS CAT HAS ONLY BEEN USED IN SHOWS FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS AND IS TO BE CONSIDERED A GARAGE QUEEN. THERE ARE NO OIL LEAKS OF ANY KIND(TRUE EVEN THOUGH ENGLISH).THE GENERATOR WAS REPLACED WITH AN ALTERNATOR AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS SYNCHRONIZED. THERE IS NOT ONE WRINKLE OR WAVE IN THE PAINT AND ALL OF THE TOLERANCES ARE BETTER THAN FACTORY. CAR RIDES ON PIRELLI P6'S WITH THE KNOCKOFFS INCLUDING THE SPARE. THIS CAR IS ALWAYS IN THE GARAGE AND HEAVILY COVERED. THE CHROME WAS TRIPLE PLATED DURING RESTORATION AND BEAUTIFUL. THE ORIGINAL SU'S(TRIPLES) ARE TUNED TO PERFECTION.THE ORIGINAL JACK AND LEAD MALLET ARE INTACT. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL MANUAL AS WELL AS THE HARD COVERED 3.8 SERVICE MANUAL(PAID $250 FOR IT AT A COLLECTORS AUCTION) I HAVE MANY OF THE RESTORATION RECEIPTS AND PICTURES FOR THE NEW OWNER.THIS IS A PRIME VINTAGE VEHICLE OF YESTERYEAR GONE BY. SERIOUS COLLECTORS WILL LOVE THIS VEHICLE AS THE VEHICLE NEEDS NOTHING TO BE A CONSISTENT SHOW WINNER.
THE TITLE IS FREE AND CLEAR AND IN MY HANDS.
