Current bid $22,400.00 (Reserve not met), 6 bids, 5 days left in auction. 69k miles.

Sellers description:
1964 Jaguar XKE, Series 1, red roadster. The car was fully restored (ground up restoration) in 1988 by Mr. Jack Heimovics or Carriage Tree Motorcars, Medina, Ohio.

In 1988 all new rubber and seals were installed, as well as all new glass. All chrome and bright metal was replated. The interior chrome was also all redone. The entire interior was replaced. All gauges and switches were removed and repaired as requied. All carpeting and leather was replaced (all kit replacements). The top was also replaced with a fabric (hearth woven cloth). The rear window is clear. The top was rarely ever used since the car was never out in bad weather. The car has always been stored in a heated, dry garage. The original Blaupunkt radio still functions well but speakers should be replaced.

The front headlight covers are in good condition. Lens, front and rear, are also in good condition (not cracked or faded). Front and rear bumpers are in very good condition. Chromed wire wheels are in good condition and are correct for the year of the car. All winged knock-offs are in very good condition.

The car has a stainless steel exhaust system from the headers back (installed when the car was restored). The suspension was also replaced at the time of the restoration. The undercarriage is clean. The rear axle is clean and dry. The drive shaft is well balanced and has no vibration. The original Moss 4-speed racing gearbox is a pleasure to drive and functions perfectly. The car has the original smaller flywheel which make it faster off the line than later models. The car's 3.8 liter engine was completed rebuilt and restored. The three SU carbs were rebuilt and make the car a pleasure to drive. A contemporary battery was installed and is the only non-period modification done. I still have the original battery brackets.

The ignition key is original. The door locks had to be replaced with factory barrels due to wear. The doors therefore have a separate key. Hood (bonnet) and trunk (boot) latches all function properly. The three soft-top latches for the windscreen frame look extremely good and function properly. Doors, rear trunk (boot) lid and gasoline filler cover all fit well. The front bonnet has a slight misalignment problem which is typical of XKE's. Window cranks function very well on both doors.

The Jaguar has a luggage rack and rear bumper frame. It also has a full tool kit, jack, owner's manual, service booklet and miscellaneous materials.

This car has been maintained on a regular basis and was driven only when weather permitted (never in the rain, snow, etc.). I consider this to be a "turn-key" car, but not a "trailer queen."

I recently purchased this car but due to health reasons (numerous vertebra fusions, am not able to enjoy it.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
