found as an unrestored car, 2021-2023/24: nuts and bolts restoration, (nearly) all original parts intact

885308 background information taken from www.jackclassics.com/ (seller's website):
'Produced in December 1961, this car is a first series, referred to by enthusiasts as the “flat floor” due to the flat shape of its floors, a feature that was modified in February 1962.
Found in 2020 in Texas, it belonged for almost its entire history to Mr. Murrell Townsend, a resident of Harwood, Dallas. According to the documents found in the car and its original license plate, he used it until 1987, after which he parked it in the garage of his company specializing in electric motors.
The car, likely stopped due to some mechanical problems, was in incredibly original condition, and almost intact in all its parts.
During the restoration that began at the end of 2022, many original parts were preserved, including the aluminum central console, which in the first cars had a different texture and, despite being over 60 years old, was in excellent condition.
The over year and a half of work has been thoroughly documented with detailed photos, and there is comprehensive documentation relating to the work and spare parts purchased. The particularity and refinement of the color combination and that the restoration was carried out with the utmost respect for originality, make this a wonderful example.'
Car was imported by classics-world.com, Erlecom, the Netherlands & restored and sold in July 2024 by www.jackclassics.com/, Italy.

According to my information the unrestored car came with a wrong but interesting engine. Earlier than supposed to be: R 1098-9 which belongs to an OBL.
After restoration, the car still has the wrong but rare dipped water rail (also found on early and some subsequent OBL cars)
