Ebay item 9/1/20
www.ebay.com/itm/1962-Jaguar-E-Type-1962-JAGUAR-E-TYPE-COUPE-MATCHING-NUMBERS/37 ...
Car has a buy it now price of $135,000 for 29 days, seller kurttannermotorcars, 39k miles.

Seller's description;
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this excellent Jaguar E-type coupe. LHD Coupe number 1341, built on June 28th in 1962, the car was dispatched through Henlys of London on July 11th a few weeks later for Personal Export Delivery. It was finished in Cream with a Black interior - a crisp color scheme. Today, it wears the more exciting color of British Racing Green with Biscuit trim. This lovely early car has been totally nut-and-bolt restored, from the bare monocoque up and finished around 2007. It has been sympathetically upgraded with a 5-speed gearbox, Wilwood front brake calipers, new aluminum radiator, an alternator, and a high torque starter. This exhaustive restoration has been documented with photos, receipts, and correspondence with specialist restoration shops/vendors in Vermont and New Hampshire. Body, paint, and body assembly was entrusted to Classy Chassis while main assembly was the task of Sports and Vintage Car, both of Plainfield, NH. Best of Britain of Vermont restored the car's mechanicals. The car's restoration has barely mellowed in the past 13 years, as it's accrued mileage has been very limited, approximately 1800 miles since. The car shows extremely well overall with only some slight traces of use. It's gathered enough miles to be completely sorted out and adjusted, not an easy task sometimes on fully restored E-type Jaguars.
Details of this car's restoration includes a complete stripdown to it's bare monocoque with front subframes detached. The bodyshell was then shotblasted with all metalwork repaired, and then built back up with panels fitted and gapped, bodywork flatted off and metal finished.. Professional bodywork and paintwork was then applied with superb results using basecoat/clearcoat system. All new body rubber items were installed, chromework replated, new light lenses, new quality Triplex windshield glass replaced, as well as side door glass and glass headlamp covers. The car received a new wiring harness with new or rebuilt electrical items.
Mechanically, the car's front suspension and rear IRS unit were completely rebuilt with all new parts along with a new braking system with upgraded Wilwood 4-pot front calipers (a nice welcome for the 3.8 braking system). The car's matching numbers engine was completely disassembled, machined, thoroughly cleaned and rebuilt with all new parts. The engines ancillaries were completely rebuilt. The car's fuel system was rebuilt including it's carburetor set, new fuel lines, and a new submersible pump. The car's original matching numbers Moss gearbox was removed and saved with the car, and a new updated 5-speed gearbox with new clutch was installed. The car received a new Bell stainless system throughout with new hangers. Engine bay detailing is excellent and still looks quite fresh and original, not overdone.
The car's interior was 100% completely renewed utilizing a quality BAS custom-made kit in biscuit leather with matching Wilton wool carpeting, along with a new dash top pad, door fuzzies, door seals, matching biscuit seat belt set, modern sound system. The car's signature aluminum 3-piece center console kit was renewed, along with it's restored correct early original steering wheel.
Overall, an extremely nice, well restored early E-type Coupe with matching numbers in a superb color scheme. This car includes it's JDIHT certificate and has been nicely sorted with only 1800 test miles since it's restoration. It's a gem of an E-type that can be used regularly with it's subtle upgrades and will be a rewarding collectible for it's next caretaker.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
