This delightful 1963 Jaguar 'E' type 3.8 fixed head coupe was imported from the United States of America in the late 1980's and it is still in its original left hand drive format.
Upon its return it was totally and professionally restored including a bare metal respray, a complete interior re-trim and there was a large amount of work done to the engine and gearbox. This year it has also had the benefit of a Kenlowe fan fitted and we are informed that it is in superb condition throughout and the history file has many bills and photographs of the restoration.
The bodywork is painted in dark metallic Green and the trim is finished in Biscuit. It comes naturally with the 3800cc six cylinder Jaguar engine and the manual four speed transmission and we are led to believe that it will have a new and current M.O.T. by the time of the sale.
    A lovely example.

This is an exceptional E-type 3.8 FHC, finished in Opalescent Green Metallic with Biscuit interior. Restored in 19992 and dry stored ever since, originally from the States and professionally converted to RHD.

    Bodywork

The bodywork on this car is absolutly straight and totally rust free throughout, the bonnet and door gaps are perfect, the bonnet was replaced when it was restored and is therefore completely rust free and straight as are the doors, the floors and sills are also perfect. The paintwork is still bright and looks good, there are a few minor chips in places as you would expect for a car restored fifteen years ago, there is a small dent on the leading edge of the bonnet and one slightly above it. this would be a simple repair.

    Interior

The interior on this car has been completly retrimmed and looks lvely and fresh, the ally centre consol is very slightly marked, this is common on early e-type unless you replace it for a new one. Genrally the interior looks stunning.

    Mechanical

Having driven the car 300 miles from Lancaster to Kent when I bought it and many more miles since I am amazed how well the car drives, it sits on the road remarkable well for a car this age. The engine is sight and sounds good, the car has all it's original features such as the Moss gearbox, and the Kelsey Hayes bellows. The only simpathetic modifications being the Kenlowe cooling fan and the alloy header tank. Lots of other work has been carried aout since it's restoration, including a replacement diff 3,000 miles ago. Under the bonnet is clean and tidy and would not require a great deal of work to make it show condition.

    Summary

This is a beautiful example of a purist E-Type, whilst it is not concours it is much better than the average e-type requiring just a little bit of titivation in places to make it a show car. The bodywork is exceptionally straight and the drive is superb.
