But wanting to restore and actually being able to do that, are sometimes kilometres, or if you want with an English car, miles apart from eachother. If you don’t have the skills, nothing decent will come out of the garage. The owner has a private garage of which many of the professional garages can be jalous of. Such a workshop says a lot about how people work: neat and orderly. And in this case, hundreds of photos and a beautiful restoration book, supplemented with invoices, manuals, original brochures and descriptions, prove that everything was done in order to get the best possible result.

We have been in the car business for 40 years now and this is one of the best restored cars we have seen so far. It proves that if you have the necessary skills and time, you do not have to be inferior to a professional. It is fair to say that the professional is always working under time pressure, and in practice, of course, it is never possible to work on a car for five years on an hourly rate basis. The professional must therefore deliver the best quality within a limited time and cost, and that is a completely different story. The end result may be the same, but the performance is no less. Countless hours have passed to achieve this result. In practice, it is even more hours than those that were made by the owner alone, because at some point his neighbor came to see what was happening in that beautiful garage. And it was not only fo a nice cup of coffee he came in , because it was a coincidence that the neighbor also had qualities that are indispensable to make a Concours winner. So it became a joint project of two car enthusiasts who put all their passion and skills in the E-type and it was rewarded with a class victory at the Concours d’Elegance palace het Loo in the Netherlands. The ultimate goal was achieved!

    Car now offered at:

    Seller's description:

Imagine: you are at your retirement age and you worked hard all your life, and still in a good health. Then you can buy yourself an electric bike and go to the shop with your partner to pick out two gray unisex jackets, fitting the bike carrier on the towbar and explore the unknown areas of your country. Very good for those who want that life, but we don’t think it is really challenging. Except if you want to do that exploration in a car restored with your own hands: that is a completely different challenge. The man behind this story, however, is a techician and for hem a bicycle is not a real challenge. His days of retirement were over the last five years spent to a very extensively restoration of one of the most beautiful cars ever designed; the Jaguar E-type Series 1 3.8 Coupe.

The basis was a car from the USA. All numbers were requested in advance because it had to be a matching numbers car. The color of the Coupe, produced in October 1962 and registered in 1963, however, appeared to have changed once, because that was now red, but soon one of the most beautiful colors from the E-type program emerged: Opalescent Bronze, a color described as between champagne and gold. Together with the matching color, crème leather interior, a dream combination if we may say so.

But wanting to restore and actually being able to do that, are sometimes kilometres, or if you want with an English car, miles apart from eachother. But then…? Are you going to drive the car and wait in shiver for the first stone chip damage? Or do you want to check out if there is some work to do at your other calssics and meanwhile looking around for a new owner of the E-type? Thinking for a while brought the decision that the E-type is going to be sold and some companies were visited who wanted to the this nice job. Just as with restoration, there is also a question of wanting and being able to do so. And we believe in the latter because over the years we have built up a customer base that can appreciate the quality of this Jaguar E-type Series 1 3.8 and that only wants the best for a very realistic price. We can tell a long story about how perfectly this nut and bolt restoration has been carried out, but look carefully at all the pictures, because they say more than words can do…

This just run-in Jaguar is delivered including all documents, Heritage Certificate, photo album, spare parts, car cover, original brochure, tool set, etc. We are very happy to show and demonstrate you this exceptional high level car.
