Car has 19,000 original miles. Sat for 25 years in storage. Very original, but has been repainted. When recovered in 1993, it had 8,900 miles on odometer. When purchased, still had original tires! Spare tire has never been mounted.

I should have done this last year. Now it's been twenty six years to the month I flew to New York City to look at this FHC for the first time. At some point, I'll have to scan "film" photos from this visit where the E-Type was sitting outside amongst other, lesser used cars at the Jag dealership. Even though I had made arrangements with the dealership to inspect the car, no one showed up to assist. Other than I was able to purchase the Jag, the experience dealing with these people was less than professional. I did manage to convince one of the service people to get the car out of the lot and I was able to take a brief drive around snowy NY streets. What a hoot! Still had the original Dunlop tires on it and they were more than a bit "squirrely" on the slick roads.

Having sat a long time, the paint and a few interior bits needed freshening and that was done the following year. Over the last two and a half decades, the Jag has been driven and enjoyed. Now showing just under 32K (actual) miles on the clock. During that time, the usual wear parts have been attended to. The Jag is always ready for the road and has never let me down anywhere. I keep the car "neat and tidy", but it has always been a driver. Other than the top side, the remainder of the Jag is as left the factory and carries appropriate patina to prove it.

Probable the best British car I have and will ever own.

Mike.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
