Said to be fitted with Ford 289 V8

Sellers description:
Recently imported into the UK for restoration from the dry state of California complete with USA title and all EU taxes paid.

Chassis number 889204 forms an ideal basis for an individual who wished to restore an E-Type. The car has been fitted with a Ford 289 V8 which I understand also has value. As such the car will require new engine frames, engine and gearbox to form a complete car. I am able to source these parts at additional cost to the eBay auction.

The car is not rust free but extremely strong in the important places. It will require new drop floors. The bulkhead is all good along with the boot floor areas.

I would strongly suggest that the car is viewed to ensure you are 100% happy.

A remarkably solid car only requiring cills, driver and passenger floors, engine frame and a few small repair panels.
Currently well under way with top UK Jaguar restoration company. Painted in Opalescent Gunmetal and to be trimmed in Dark Blue.
Engine and Gearbox also in progress.
Completion planned for January 2017.

I have just purchased this car in the middle of it's re-build.
It's being re-built to standard specification but with some up-grades so it can be used under modern road conditions (larger radiator core and integral fan (to keep it cool in heavy traffic) Coopercraft Brakes (so it will stop as well as the car in front under heavy breaking) original Radiomobile being fitted with modern internals (so it can pick up iPod,bluetooth and digital radio) Jaguar 4 syncro gearbox (to make gear changing faster).
All original components are being restored and will be retained in storage.
Paint and Trim colours have been changed but that's reversible in the long term!
Due for completion January 2018.
Trying to contact last owner in USA which should not be difficult.

Lot #130759

This 1963 Jaguar XKE is a left-hand-drive Series I coupe that has been refinished in opalescent gray and is powered by a modified 3.8-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes blue leather upholstery, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, triple SU carburetors, Coopercraft International disc brakes, Koni shocks, glass headlight covers, power steering, and a Radiomobile head unit. The car is a US-market example that was exported to the UK in the early 2000s and refurbished circa 2018. It was then purchased by the selling dealer and returned to the US in 2022. This XKE is now offered with service records, refurbishment photos, a tool kit, a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, and a clean Florida title.

Originally finished in Pale Primrose Yellow, the bodywork has been repainted in opalescent gray. The seller notes that the respray took place in 2018. Equipment includes chrome bumpers, glass headlight covers, a louvered hood, and a dual-outlet exhaust system. Stone chips are present on the front facia.

Chrome 15” wire wheels are secured by two-eared knockoffs and mounted with 185-series Michelin XVS whitewall tires. Aftermarket disc brakes were sourced from Coopercraft International and feature billet aluminum front calipers. The seller notes that Rob Beere Racing “fast road” suspension components have also been fitted, along with an EZ electric power steering system.

The dark blue leather upholstery and matching carpets were reportedly sourced from Aldridge Trimming Ltd. and installed in 2018. Equipment includes three-point inertia-reel seatbelts, a padded armrest, toggle switches, pop-out rear vent windows, and a Radiomobile radio. Wear marks are noted on the leather.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline. Gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, amperage, and coolant temperature are mounted in the center of the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 5,800 miles, and the total mileage is unknown.

The seller states that the 3.8-liter inline-six was rebuilt between 2017 and 2018 using the following parts sourced from Rob Beere Racing:

Connecting rods

Pistons

Camshafts

Valves

Timing chain

Flywheel

Clutch assembly

Additional equipment includes a high-output starter, Fossway Performance aluminum radiator, and ITG air filter assembly. A fluid service was performed by Gibsons Classics in August 2022 before the car left England for the US. Additional maintenance at that time included replacing a coolant hose clamp and tightening the bonnet latch.

The cylinder head stamping RA3574-9 matches the engine number on the chassis plate and Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, and the seller notes that aftermarket differential gears were sourced from Dana UK.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate indicates a manufacture date of September 16, 1963, and initial distribution by Jaguar Cars of New York along with original colors, equipment, and serial numbers. A tool kit, refurbishment records, owner’s manuals, and literature are also included in the sale.
