Owner: John Carroll
I live in Victoria B.C. with two jags and three Marcos, two Irish Wolfhounds and a fat Lion-hound! I raced Modsports in late 60's, TVR's, Ginetta and finally an E-type before coming to Canada. Drove at Westwood with a G4 Ginetta, now I just play with various cars. (email)Updated July 23rd, 2005. Not legal proof of ownership. |

Highly modified engine and suspension, fully restored body and interior. Very fast, handles like my race car!

The engine number as recorded was actually the car number, just swapped it out. Sounds like fun!

Just imported this car from John Carroll in Victoria, B.C. I'll post pictures soon, and will apply for a heritage certificate.

Question, what kind of muffler exhaust system does this car have? load?
Also does the engine have a nitrous system, if so, any comments on the performance

John Carroll did a nice job on this car. No nitrous, just Webers, Terry's high performance street cams, Mallory electronic ignition, Accusump pre-oiler. The exhaust is Classic Jaguar stainless headers, stock Jaguar resonators, and cherry bombs for mufflers (honest). I plan to upgrade the mufflers in the near future; but I have to admit the car sounds great the way it is (not too loud). Performance is more than adequate, esp. with the 5-speed. FYI the wheels are k/o 7.5" Minilites set up for this car with 215/60X15 tires. No rear bump stops; but no fender mods. Clearance is tight, but no interference front or rear.

Opening bid $20,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 5 days left in auction. Buy it now price $69,900.
Sellers description:
This is a unique, stunningly fast, great handling E-Type. I believe it will give a 275GTB fits! The original chassis number is properly stamped on the front crossmember, and the ID tag is present. The mileage on the odometer (under 1,000) is not correct, and was likely reset to zero when the car was restored. Most of the mechanical and restoration work on this car was done by the previous owner. If you want a higher performance E-Type coupe to drive and enjoy, then you’ll be hard pressed to do better than this example. This car is ideal for vintage tours and rallyes. It’s very usable and drivable. It is easy to shift, has a surprisingly decent ride, and has a clutch effort that won’t make your left leg ache.
I have placed a very reasonable reserve on the car. You could not duplicate this car for what I’m asking. With a show-quality paint job this could be a six-figure car.
BODY:
This car was a tub-up restoration of a western US car. Entire body and subframes are rustfree and solid. Nice dark blue driver-quality paint with great gloss. It isn’t perfect; but is very attractive. There are minimal chips which come with use. This car gets a lot of attention and compliments. Most of the chrome is very good to excellent.
INTERIOR:
All new leather kit from BAS in Jaguar Saville Gray with dark blue piping and carpets. There is a scratch on the driver’s backrest which can probably be touched up if desired. New dash top with recovered dash face and new dash chrome. All new rubber seals throughout. Four-point harnesses and unique color keyed Nardi steering wheel. New CD player/radio, with AUX-IN plug. This car also has an original style Jaguar Triplex heated rear window with proper E-Type dash switch.
ENGINE:
Original engine completely rebuilt. Block stripped and hot-tanked, core plugs removed. Block deck milled to level. Crank line-bored. Crank, rods, flywheel, and clutch plate balanced. All threads re-tapped before assembly. Cylinders bored .20 over. New 4.2 high volume oil pump. New high-tensile head studs, SIII XJ6 rods and pistons fitted. New cam sprockets, chains and guides. Cams are Terry’s hot street cams. Fluid harmonic balancer and Teflon front seal. New bearings throughout. Pre-oiler (automatic solenoid operation). Stainless headers from Classic Jaguar. Triple 45 Webers, Facet fuel pump with pressure regulator. Stainless tubing from tank to carbs. Ports matched. SIII XJ6 valves, three angle valve seats, new lightweight buckets set screwed in place. Competition valve springs. New aluminum radiator and header tank.
GEARBOX:
New Classic Jaguar 5-Speed with poly mounts. Aluminum flywheel and 4.2 HD clutch.
DIFFERENTIAL and DRIVETRAIN:
Completely rebuilt, new u-joints and wheel bearings.
STEERING and SUSPENSION:
Completely rebuilt. Fully adjustable aluminum-case shocks front and rear from Classic Jaguar. Heavy-duty torsion bars with adjustable plate. Rear springs are 1” shorter Classic Jaguar. Suspension can be raised or lowered easily. Poly bushings in most locations.
WHEELS and TIRES:
7” Minilite knockoffs with strengthened centers using splines. Tires are Yokohama ES100 215/60x15. No clearance problems or body mods were necessary.
BRAKES:
Front Wilwood calipers, standard rears. All components new or rebuilt including servo and sleeved master cylinder. Stainless flexible hoses.

I own the Jag now, resides in AZ. 5 speed is very nice for crusing, sorted the car out as there were minor suspension issues, now drives very nice.
