This 1964 XKE FHC with matching numbers is a California original car which has resided recently in Colorado. It is a great candidate for a high level restoration; the car runs and drives now. You can drive now, and restore later. It has a radio blanking plate currently. With a larger than stock radiator, the bonnet was modified to fit the radiator. Generally, this car is in good shape, and very collectable.

This 1964 Jaguar XKE is a Series I coupe that was completed on January 7, 1964 and sold new in California. Finished in white over a red interior, the car is powered by a numbers-matching 3.8-liter inline-six paired with a Moss four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a RetroSound AM/FM radio, Fosseway four-wheel disc brakes, Pertronix ignition, glass headlight covers, and chrome knock-off wire wheels. The car was acquired by the seller around seven years ago, and subsequent work reportedly included overhauls of the suspension, brakes, and carburetors, along with replacement of the radiator and brake and clutch master cylinders. This Series I XKE is being offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, records from current ownership, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.
The car was factory finished in Cream and repainted its current shade of white during prior ownership. The seller states that repairs were previously performed around the hood and in the trunk due to accident damage, and evidence of the work is visible. Exterior features include a louvered hood, central exhaust outlets, a driver’s side mirror, and glass headlight covers. Various paint chips, cracks, and scratches can be seen.
Chrome 15” wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with 185-width Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The car rides on four-wheel independent suspension that is said to have been refreshed during current ownership. Stopping power is provided by Fosseway four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rears. A replacement brake master cylinder and remote rear brake bleeders have been installed, and a full-size spare is found in the rear storage area.
The cabin has been lined with sound deadening material and features bucket seats that were reupholstered in red leather around six years ago. Additional features include a RetroSound AM/FM stereo, analog clock, LED interior lighting, and toggle switches for vehicle functions. The seller reports that the handbrake lever mechanism has been upgraded. A hole in the kick panel upholstery can be seen in the gallery, along with fading. The removable passenger foot board will accompany the vehicle.
A wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel features an E-Type-branded horn button and sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock. A quartet of auxiliary gauges are found in the center stack, and the five-digit odometer shows 7k miles, the majority of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter inline-six features Pertronix ignition and sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The triple SU carburetors were reportedly rebuilt during current ownership, the clutch master cylinder has been replaced, and a CoolCat aluminum radiator was installed in 2021. The fuel filter was replaced and an oil and filter change were performed in preparation for the sale. A compression test reportedly conducted 5,300 feet above sea.
Engine block stamping RA 4993-9 matches the number listed on the Heritage Trust certificate.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory colors along with a build date of January 7, 1964.
The car is titled with VIN J64889798, which utilizes “J64” in conjunction with the vehicle’s chassis number.

This 1964 Jaguar XKE is a Series I coupe that was completed on January 7, 1964 and sold new in California. It changed ownership in the late 1960s and was brought to Colorado, where it remained with its second owner for approximately four decades. The car was previously listed on BaT in February 2022 and subsequently acquired by the seller. Having previously been mechanically refurbished, the car was refinished in its original shade of Cream and fitted with replacement door panels and carpets over a two-year period beginning in 2022. It is powered by a numbers-matching 3.8-liter inline-six paired with a Moss four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a RetroSound AM/FM radio, Fosseway four-wheel disc brakes, Pertronix ignition, glass headlight covers, chrome knock-off wire wheels, and red leather upholstery. This Series I XKE is being offered in Florida with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, a tool roll and factory jack, refurbishment records, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.
Previously white, the body was disassembled and refinished in its original shade of Cream under current ownership. Dents in the hood were repaired at this time, and the seals were replaced. Equipment includes enclosed headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, a driver-side mirror, triple windshield wipers, a side-hinged rear hatch, and dual exhaust outlets.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Moss four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is equipped with a replacement stainless-steel exhaust system.
The car is titled with VIN J64889798, which utilizes “J64” in conjunction with the vehicle’s chassis number.
Otherwise as above.
