This soul-stirring 1964 Jaguar E-Type Fixed Head Coupe has recently emerged from a Concours quality restoration completed at Images Autobody in San Jose, California, whose jewel-like restorations of rare and valuable automobiles are world-renowned. The quality of their work is evident in every detail of this Old English White coupe, which was purchased new in San Jose. The family of the original owner kept it in storage for 35 years before turning it over to Images. Under the direction of founder and owner Dave Ferguson, who is also Chief Judge of the Jaguar Foundation Group, the craftsmen at Images completely dismantled the car to its elements, and then comprehensively refurbished the components to new and correct condition. The body and frame were expertly refinished in the correct Old English White, and the interior returned to sparkling as new condition. Chrome and other brightwork are exceptional throughout; the instruments and driver controls impeccably finished and the leather upholstery and carpeting virtually flawless. The rebuilt drivetrain is original to the car and numbers matching, including the 4.2L inline-6 DOHC engine block and head, 4-speed all-synchromesh transmission and rear differential. The included tools, jack and owner's manual are also original. This car is well documented, coming with the "J" number tag denoting its California delivery; receipts detailing an investment of $120,000; a photographic journal showing the car before, during and after the restoration and a Certificate of Authenticity from the Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust. This superb 1964 E-Type coupe has never been shown, a fact that affords the new owner the opportunity to present a fresh restoration to the public for its debut.
