Sellers description:
you are looking at a1963 Jaguar XKE (or E-Type, if you prefer). I found this car about a year ago in the ownership of an old man who had begun a restoration on it in the 70's and never finished. He placed it in storage in his barn and it stayed there until I purchased it.

I started my own restoration but have decided not to finish since I seem to be taking on too many projects at once. So far I have welded on new rockers, done some panel aligning, done some body work, acid etched the whole car and applied some 2K primer. I got some new front floors for it but have not welded them in. The rear floors will need to be replaced. I have not tried to fire the engine, but when I bought it it had about 5 gallons of oil in it and had sat that way since parked. The engine does spin over freely. The front framework around the engine and is in very good shape, as is the firewall. There is a little of bodywork left to do it, including a little bit of patchwork.

I was told by the guy that sold it to me that all the parts to put it back together are there except for the windshield. I do have boxes full of parts that came with the car and as far as I can tell everything is there. Most of it is in good shape, except the interior will need all new upholstery. There is an extra knock-off wire wheel, 4 have old red-line bias-ply tires on them and the spare has a white-line. Probably these are the original tires.

Just a little extra info on the car for anyone who is less familiar with them: the engine is a 265 horsepower overhead cam 3.8 Liter inline 6 mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Disc brakes are front and rear with the rear being an independant rear suspension setup. The VIN is 890243.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
