Private Party or Dealer: Dealer

This 1969 Jaguar XKE is a Series II open two-seater that was reportedly refurbished in 2002 before being acquired by the selling dealer in August 2019. The car is finished in Opalescent Golden Sand over a beige interior, and power is from a numbers-matching 4.2L inline-six equipped with dual Stromberg carburetors and paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Service performed by the selling dealer includes a valve adjustment, an oil change, an alignment, and replacement of the fuel pump, torsion bars, front shocks, and door handles. This XKE is now offered by the selling dealer in Cornelius, North Carolina, with service records, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, and a clean Tennessee title.

According to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, the car left the factory finished in British Racing Green. It was refinished in Opalescent Golden Sand during the 2002 refurbishment, and provided photos show the car during various stages of the process. Service since November 2019 includes new torsion bars and a braking system service. The power-steering system was removed, and a tan soft top is fitted.

Chrome 15″ wire wheels were reportedly replaced during the refurbishment and wear Michelin Defender tires. Service in late 2019 included an alignment and wheel balancing, along with the installation of new front shocks, eared knock-offs, an antenna, and door handles. A knock-off hammer is included in the sale.

The interior is trimmed in beige with matching door panels and carpets. It is equipped with a 15″ Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel and a modern retro-style aftermarket stereo. The selling dealer notes that the rearview mirror was replaced.

Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 16k miles, less than 200 of which were added by the selling dealer. True mileage is unknown, and the tachometer functions intermittently.

The 4.2-liter XK inline-six is equipped with dual Stromberg carburetors and was reportedly rebuilt in 2002. The intake manifold and valve covers were recently cleaned and polished, and an aluminum radiator with an electric fan is fitted. Recent service includes a carburetor rebuild, a valve adjustment, a new water pump, a new fuel pump, an oil change, and more. The results of a compression test can be viewed in the gallery. Engine stamping 7R7241-9 matches the engine number listed on the data plate. A stainless steel exhaust system was recently installed.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate lists a manufacture date of August 28, 1969, along with the original numbers and colors. Service records and refurbishment photos are included in the sale.
