Ebay item 3/20/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Triple-black-series-two-OTS-Webers-cams-headers-/3005386 ...
Opening bid $32,000, no reserve, no bids yet 6 days left in auction. 56k miles.

Sellers description:
1970 series 2, NON MATCHING numbers E-Type that is a daily driver and very fun to drive. It has been upgraded with many items to make it reliable and easier maintenance. It has triple Webers, a spin on oil filter with a Napa filter, single wire GM alternator, and Flame Thrower distributor with Pertronix electronic ignition.

Engine
The head was just rebuilt with oversize valves and steel valve guides. A mild port was done to mate intake and header ports for increased flow. Performance cams from Terry's Jaguar and stiff valve springs were installed and set to 10 thousands clearance. Triple 45 DCOE Webers with K& N filters feed fuel in and the exhaust exits through steel headers. There is no smoke, constant 45 lbs oil pressure, runs cool, starts instantly, runs right up to red line, and has a aggressive exhaust note through nonrestrictive glass packs and series one resonators.

Suspension
New upper, lower ball joints and tie rod ends were installed. Steering is tight and responsive with new tires and inner tubes installed with about 2k miles on them. The rear end was removed and found to be in excellent condition. No work needed.

Brakes
New clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder for the clutch were installed and the brake master was rebuilt. . New brake bottle and brake switches were installed as well as rebuild kits for the brake calipers. New brake pads all around and in the hand brake were also installed. New rotors were installed on the front, the rears were fine after turning.

Interior
It looks very nice with very little wear showing. The worst spots are on both seat backs where to top tears the seats when lowered without tilting the seats. The gauges were all removed and refurbished , look like new and work perfectly. The steering wheel was refinished and is beautiful. A new dash pad was installed. The carpeting looks like new and has had floor mats on top to protect it. The carpeting does cover the door sills unlike an original design were that was leather. Door panels look good also. Interior light are operative when the doors are opened as well as from switch on dash. All the switches were cleaned and lubricated for consistent operation. Stainless steel water tubes were installed to insure a leak free situation for the heater and defrosters which work great. The water regulator valve was also replaced.

Exterior
This is a daily driver and that shows. There are little nicks and scratches around the car. The paint still shines up and looks pretty good. There are a few bubbles showing up but they are tiny and had had no success getting them to show in pictures. There is a flat area behind the passenger door. I can't say what it is other than a poor repair of what must have been a dent. It was there when I bought it. It is hard to see but you can feel it and it makes it look as though the door is not shut all the way? The next step for me was to repaint the car this coming winter to really make it a top notch car. The chrome and bright work is in good shape except for a few tiny spots on the right front bumper. The passenger mirror does not stay in position. I have all new rubber strips that go on the bumpers but they are not installed. Was waiting to paint the car first before I glued them in place. They go with the car. The top is a cloth top and it snaps down in the rear instead of the original style but is in very good shape. The back window is clear. When folded down I always have a towel between the plastic so that it doesn't scratch. The glass is all in ok shape with some very minor scratches from being roled up and down. The windshield has a small rock chip just above the wiper blade that I had filled by a windshield company. Some separation is evident up at the very top where it curves the most. There is some rust evident under the spare tire and the boot lid does not stay open on it own. The boot liner is brighter than the original color but is new and looks good and covers new plywood pieces.

Wheels
The chrome wire wheels look awesome and it has the eared series one style knock offs. They balanced well and run smooth on the car.

This is a great driver and I drive it often to Denver and Moab with no issues. We have shown it in some car shows and it is always admired and gets high praises. Along with the changes I have mention already the car has series 1 style exhaust tips, no finisher plate between the tail lights (one does come with the car), and a battery operated clock,

I have tried to represent the car just as it is and be honest about it condition. As always it would be best if you could see it in person. The odometer shows 56386 but that is not accurate.

I have owned the car for over 5 years and had no intention of selling, but a family emergency necessitates it sale.
