Ebay item 3/28/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-Jaguar-XKE-Coupe-Nice-Driver-Webers-New-Michelins-/ ...
Current bid $13,100 reserve not met, 10 bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
Having owned this 1970 XKE short door coupe since 1979 the owner is putting it up for sale. The car was re-painted in 1979 and the engine rebuild in 1983. At that time triple weber carbs, headers and mild isky street cams were added as well as adjustable front and rear sway bars and front Koni shocks.
The body is straight and almost rust free with the exception of a small spot below the front of the RH rear bumper blade and the area around the floor plugs in the spare tire well (see pics). The rockers and floors are sound as well as the rest of the body. All the chrome is present and in good condition. Glass is good. There appears to be no signs of previous collision damage. Options include factory A/C (needs service), tinted glass and heated rear window. The interior is in decent condition. The leather seats are not hard or ripped, but show wear appropriated for the age of the car.
Everything appears to work, with the exception of the A/C. This is a number matching car with a clear Washington state title. When we brought this Jaguar our of storage after 15 years, we installed a new battery, fuel pump, clutch hydraulics, rebuilt the front brakes and put on five new 205VR15 Michelin tires. It is drivable as is but should be repainted (there are chips and other flaws in the 30 plus year old paint). We see no reason the successful buyer could not drive this car home.
