This 1969 Jaguar XKE is a Series II 2+2 coupe that was purchased new in Michigan and acquired by the seller from the family of its longterm second owner out of Colorado in 2016. Finished in Pale Primrose Yellow over a black interior, this example is powered by a numbers-matching 4.2L inline-six paired with an automatic transmission. Recent maintenance included rebuilding the carburetors, reupholstering the front seats, and installing a new oil sending unit and upper ball joints. Approximately 2k miles have been added by the seller during his two years of ownership. This XKE is offered in Tennessee with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, a factory data plate and other documentation, partial records, and transferrable Alabama registration.

A bare-metal repaint in the original shade of Pale Primrose Yellow was performed in 1984. The rear hatch was reportedly replaced the following year, with the seller noting that its color is not an exact match.

Chrome wire wheels are equipped with earless spinner nuts and older Vredestein Classic tires that are said to show cracking but have plenty of remaining tread.

The front seats were reupholstered in black leather earlier this year. Interior equipment consists of a wood-rimmed 3-spoke steering wheel, Series II rocker switches, an air conditioning system, and a Philips AM/FM stereo. The A/C does not blow cold and reportedly remains on an R12 system.

Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,000 rpm redline. The 5-digit odometer shows 62k miles, approximately 2,000 of which were added by the seller.

The 4.2L inline-six is mounted under a front-hinged bonnet and equipped with twin Stromberg carburetors. A rebuilt alternator was fitted in 2016, while more recent maintenance consisted of rebuilding the carburetors and installing a new oil pressure sender and spark plugs. The seller notes an oil leak from the rear main seal and recommends rebuilding or replacing the automatic transmission due to slippage between second and third gears.

Engine stamping #7R37754-9 matches the chassis plate as well as the Heritage Trust certificate shown below.

New upper ball joints have been installed, while the front suspension bushings are reported to show their age. Additional undercarriage photos are provided in the gallery.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate shows a build date of May 28, 1969 and confirms the factory colors as well as the chassis, engine, and body numbers.

Current bid: $11,211 reserve not met 4 bids 9 days left in auction, buy it now price $49,000 seller yazcomotor, car now said to be in Oakdale, California, 62k miles.

Seller's description:

This 1969 Jaguar E Type 4.2 is an original. The owner has had it for 5 years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for car shows. Very highly documented original car, one of the nicest and cleanest 1969 E series around

The exterior is amazingly beautiful the paint is smooth and shiny, the bright work or chrome is amazingly beautiful! Especially around all of the window trim it looks like it’s just been triple chrome plated, there are no dents and no scratches there are a couple of small chips on the bottom of the rear hatch and that is it.... even the wheels shine like new everything opens and closes without any fuss this car feels absolutely timeless when you drive it or even sit in it it feels like it’s a brand new car off the show room, that is not an exaggeration it really is that nice

The interior speaks for itself no rips no tears, there is one small crack on the dash on the left side which is hardly visible.

The drivetrain is all numbers matching and original to the vehicle, this car has no rattles no shakes no problems runs and drives absolutely amazing, and the most important thing is the whole drive train and transmission has been removed from the car in the last year and completely gone through the transmission was fully rebuilt the engine was taken apart disassembled and everything was checked and replaced if needed including an entire engine gasket set including the head gasket I have the receipts for all of this and it totaled more than $15,000.
