This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 is said to have been acquired new by the current owner’s father in March 1970 and now shows 13k miles. The car is finished in Silver Grey and features a louvered clamshell hood, a side-hinged rear door, and wraparound bumpers. It rides on 15″ wire wheels and is further equipped with power steering and four-wheel disc brakes. Inside, Dark Blue leather–trimmed seats are accompanied by a wood-rimmed steering wheel and Smiths instrumentation. Power is supplied by a 4.2-liter inline-six fitted with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, while shifting is through a three-speed automatic transmission linked with a limited-slip differential. This XKE 2+2 is now offered on dealer consignment with a window sticker, service records, and a clean Illinois title in the current owner’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Silver Grey. It features a louvered clamshell hood and a side-hinged rear door along with a driver-side mirror and wraparound bumpers. The selling dealer reports that the nose was repainted following damage incurred in the family garage and notes various flaws and scratches around the body. The dual exhaust outlets are misaligned.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by knock-off spinners and are mounted with 185-width Michelin X Tube red-line tires. The car is equipped with optional power steering, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The 2+2 cabin features seats upholstered in Dark Blue leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. A previously installed radio has been removed, and the selling dealer notes that the air conditioning system requires service.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel features drilled spokes and frames Smiths instrumentation including a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline along with a 160-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 13k miles, all of which are said to have been added under current family ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The window sticker shows delivery to Continental Motors of Countryside, Illinois, and lists equipped options along with a total price of $7,567.
