Opening bid $15k, no reserve, no bids yet, 8 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
THIS IS A TWO OWNER 1970 JAGUAR E-TYPE 2+2 4.2L THAT I AM SELLING FOR MY FATHER. HE PURCHASED IT IN 1973 WITH 26,000 MILES, AND HAS BEEN THE OWNER EVER SINCE. IT WAS DRIVEN INFREQUENTLY FOR PLEASURE IN THE 30+ YEARS THAT HE HAS OWNED IT. IT HAD BEEN GARAGED AND NOT DRIVEN FOR ABOUT 7 YEARS, AND I HAD IT TAKEN IN TO LOCAL JAGUAR SPECIALIST FOR REPAIRS 2 MONTHS AGO. TOTAL REPAIRS SINCE THEN HAVE BEEN $7,500 AND HAVE INCLUDED: MAJOR TUNEUP, BATTERY, VALVE JOB AND HEAD GASKET, BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER, BRAKE POWER BOOSTER, BRAKE HOSES, CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER, WATER PUMP, CARBURETOR REBUILDS, FUEL PUMP AND FILTERS AND OTHER REPAIRS. IT HAS BEEN LICENSED AND INSPECTED IN TEXAS THIS MONTH. IT NEEDS MINIMAL OTHER REPAIRS (I will provide information to you) BUT IS RUNNING FINE AT THIS TIME. ADDITIONALLY, THE A/C HAS NOT BEEN CHECKED BUT IS UNLIKELY TO BE FUNCTIONAL AT THIS TIME. IT HAS 72,411 ALL ORIGINAL GENUINE MILES AND HAS BEEN REPAINTED ONCE. THE INTERIOR WAS COMPLETELY REDONE 10-15 YEARS AGO. THE EXTERIOR HAS NO DAMAGE OR RUST, PAINT CONDITION IS AVERAGE. ALL PART NUMBERS SHOULD MATCH AS ORIGINALS. IT CAN BE SEEN DURING THE BUSINESS DAY AT: OLDE ENGLISH IMPORTS, INC. 1310 W. 5th STREET AUSTIN, TX 78703. I HAVE MY FATHER'S SERVICE RECORDS DATING BACK 30 YEARS FOR THIS VEHICLE, AND WILL PROVIDE THEM ON REQUEST. I WILL PROVIDE YOU ANY AND ALL INFORMATION THAT I HAVE ABOUT THE CAR, INCLUDING ANTHING THAT IT MAY NEED. I WILL MAKE A FULL AND COMPLETE DISCLOSURE ABOUT ITS CONDITION TO YOU.

    Car returns to ebay 6/5/05
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $7,900.00 (Reserve not met), 15 bids, 4 days left in auction. This auction is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

    Sellers description:
I am a 1970 Jaguar XKE 4.2 Litre Coupe, not a 2+2, four speed manual transmission. I am finished in Willow Green, a somewhat rare colour, My interior is tan and in very good condition, considering my age. ( It was replaced in 1987) I have air conditioning, power steering, power brakes. I was puchased from Jerol Gill Motors in Austin Texas.I lived all my life in a garage in Texas. My second owner took loving care of me and I come with a box of 30 years of receipts. We have the original owners manual, wiring diagrams, service schedules, tool kit, and jack. Recently, I was given a new set of chrome wire wheels, tires, brake master cylinder, brake booster, brake hoses, fuel pump, battery, alternator, front shock absorbers, carburator overhaul, water pump, clutch slave cylinder, valve job, and a complete tune up. ( And I think whatever else that mechanic had laying around he wanted to sell.) ( Complete documentation and receipts for everything, right down to original Texas title.) I come with a second set of wire wheels, which are serviceable, and with a little elbow grease and some steel wool, would clean up nicely.

When my owner got the bill, he had a stroke, and here I am looking for a new home. I am not perfect. My A/C is functional, but needs freon. My paint is in good condition, but has a few chips that have been touched up. I start and run well, the transmission ( which was rebuilt a few years back) shifts well. I am structurally sound and my body is very nice, ( you know what they say about us Texas gals) my stainless is impeccable, and have many new suspension parts. I am missing the chrome moulding from the rear window, ( well half any way) and my clock does not work. The A/C interior vent on the passenger side is falling apart, and should be replaced. The rear window defogger wires are not connected and does not work.

Other than that, I am cute, fun and I love to go out for a drive. I have lots of energy and purr in the right hands. I need some one to take full advantage of me. I would love some one to take me out for a makeover. With new paint I could make some body proud. With my existing paint you can take me out and treat me like the cat that I am. I clean up nicely and don't look bad for and old girl. Take me home or lose me forever.

Previous auction ended at $15,000, no bids received.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
