Ebay item 12/29/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-e-type-1970-XKE-Roadster-Jaguar_W0QQcmdZVi ...
Current bid $4,494 reserve not met, 5 bids 6 days left in auciton. Car has a buy it now price of $23,000.

Sellers description:
We bought this car a couple of years ago for our company mechanical people to tinker with as a company project.(Industrial Paper co.). We replaced the brake booster, master cylinder, slave cylinder, rebuild all calipers. We also got the motor running. At this time we realised the clutch pressure plate was stuck from years of non use to the flywheel. The company bought a new paper machine and we have spent the last 1 1/2 years installing it so we haven't had time to work on the XKE since. Also my main mechanical person relocated so its time to sell the car.

History: When I bought the car it was a stalled restoration. The owner started it ten years previous. He replace floors sills and repaired any are of the trunk floor necessary. He had the car painted Carmen Red (over the original Primrose) The paint isn't wonderful but all of the inner rails firewall interior and trunk were done. The car has a few dings form the body shop and storage. There are few under paint blisters showing on the drivers door and along the sill. I don't know if this was poor prep or rust issues but the sills were supposed to be replaced. Also a couple of blisters around the drivers headlights opening. The valence under the bonnet nose is rusted in the middle through.I don't know why this wasn't addressed befor painting. Also the valance under the trunk floor has soom rust issues at the seams. These two parts of sheet metal are inexpensive and available from Martin Robey!! the hard work is done. The driver door skid has a pressure mar from rubbing against something on the middle of the skin.

The soft top was replaced during the restoration attempt. The leather seats and door panels have been replaced and the door panels need to be installed. There are two new carpets to fit in the foot floor boards. The trunk tan carpet and sides are new, the wooden trunk floor is good and painted black. The seats aren't perfect from the storage but the leather is good and they will clean up nicely but not new.

The numbers are as follows Car number P2R13801, engine number 7R128069, Body 4R8557, g box Ke14189

Again!! This is a stalled project and need some reassembly and restoration completed. A lot of work has been don and some needs re doing.

Sellers description:
Beautiful 1971 Jag XKE Roadster. Matching Numbers. Drives and runs well. Inspected 2 years ago and currently has Vintage Texas license plates. Always garaged. Recent carburetor (pod) overhaul; transmission overhaul, brakes, radiator. Only thing wrong is the car needs a new cloth top as I have never put it up in the three years I've owned it and the top needs redone. Car runs well. Located in Texas. Has the dual electric fans installed for engine cooling.

1971 Jaguar XKE Roadster
Vintage Autohaus is proud to present this 1971 Jaguar XKE Roadster. This is an older restored Jaguar with great appeal and style. The previous owners father is a Master Tech and helped to care and maintain this car. Some of the maintenance performed is as follows: Radiator replaced with dual fans. Carburetors rebuilt and synchronized. Distributor rebuilt. New clutch, new brakes, new shocks, and new tires.
The engine #7R12806-9 is a 4.2 Liter twin-cam six cylinder 246 horsepower with correct twin Zenith carburetors.
The transmission #KE14189 is a correct 4 speed manual and shifts with ease through all the gears.
The body lines are classic Jaguar with great fit.
The black paint is deep and has a high gloss showing only minor wear.
The chrome bumpers are in good condition and straight with mild patina. The stainless is good with no pitting.
The undercarriage shows very original with no signs or rust or repairs.
The black leather interior is in good condition with no tears. The dash is solid with the speedometer and tachometer working and easy to read. All the gauges, lights, and, switches work and all connections have been cleaned.
The top is in good condition with the bows working properly and boot showing normal wear.
The trunk is in solid condition with a matching wire wheel spare.
This Jag drives great with plenty of power.
