This 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in Old English White over black leather, and features include a black soft top, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, quadruple carburetors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an AM/FM radio, and a heater. This Series III E-Type was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023 and is now offered at no reserve with an Ohio title.

The car is finished in Old English White and was repainted some time ago. Features include a black soft top, uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, and US-spec bumpers. The power antenna is inoperative and there is a paint chip on the hood. Bubbling adhesive around the left front side marker is visible.

The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with Elite whitewall tires measuring 215/70. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in black leather as well as color-coordinated door panels. Interior amenities include a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, a locking glovebox, and a heater.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 22k miles, and the Ohio title lists an odometer discrepancy. Total mileage is unknown.

The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. A tune-up was performed approximately 300 miles ago per the seller.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
